I am 100% convinced that Mahito Yokota, Koji Kondo, and everyone on Nintendo's composition team were avid listeners of Billy Barber / Flim and the BB's. There is a shocking amount of similarity in their melodies, mood, and overall spirit. "Water Waltz" sounds like it came straight out of Super Mario Galaxy, despite being released 24 years prior. Even on the BB's debut album (Tricycle), there is a section on "Cakewalk" that transports me back to that same childlike state of wonder I remember so vividly from playing those fantastic games. How music this transformative and brilliant can fade into obscurity is a deep mystery.

That is really interesting, it is known they all listened to ajazz fusion music, like casiopea, t square, dimension , lee ritenour, and others, but I never made the connection with Flim and the BB's

Do you have a midnight rendezvous transcription? I’ve been looking EVERYWHERE for one to try and learn it on every instrument with no luck…. (This is awesome by the way!👏🏼)
@LucasFerreira-hy4sn4 ай бұрын
Thank you very much, it would be the next Casiopea one I'd make, but I'm currently with very little time. Stopped in the middle of transcribing Go Up Stream by Dimension, will probably finish that one first, but Midnight Rendezvous might be faster given it's one of the most transcribed and played.

Hey Lucas would u happen to know if the ticks at the beginning of Beeroth are intentional? I feel like there's some errors on my CDs but they are similar to recordings I'm finish on KZbin. I'm just trying to figure out of this was an production error or if that's what happened to the original recording

Could you point out the exact timestamp? Is it at the drum solo?

@@LucasFerreira-hy4snlooks like it's around 18:39 and goes beyond the 19:00 mark Can't tell if ik tripping myself out but I feel like I'm hearing something reverb on the ticks so it might be intentional I can't imagine it's the double bass string hitting the neck either bc it not at the right time to my knowledge
