Saw you on the Flag Market and had the gift of watching you last night in Manchester. Brilliant set.

So I see people saying no Ali, no UB40. Yet Ali left the band and his version of UB40 has just one member of the original UB40, Ali himself. This iteration has 4 founder members of the band. So which is a tribute band and which has more founder members? This one obviously, the band that Ali left in 2008, which carried on with Duncan Campbell and now has Matt Doyle as lead singer (who, by the way, looks and sounds really good). I'm like everyone who wishes Ali was still in the band but you can't deny that he is the renegade who is falsely purporting to be UB40, when he is really just a solo artist.

Guitar and bass player missing, and replaced by women? Equality?? Grogan still has it, in my opinion.

I did not know about this event. I am a John Waite fan and Earl Slick was in his No Brakes Band for the album of the same name that contained his US number one Missing You in 1984. I think I would have gone if I had spotted the event was happening.

Agreed, Sid couldn't do this if you gave him a year to learn it. A deceivingly difficult bass part.

Magical to hear him play that unaccompanied. It reminds a bit of his style as recorded very clearly on the Sex Pistols cover of the Who's "Substitute". But I don't think he was recorded on "Nevermind the Bollocks", which was a great LP, but could possibly have been even greater.

You would think after all these years he would've actually learned to play the bass. He couldn't play when he was in the Pistols but he was only a kid then. No excuse at his age now!
@DannyBoi2112Ай бұрын
Glenn Matlock could always play, it’s Sid Vicious who couldn’t play and was a waste of time.
