Good, basic video. Best part is emphasizing NOT TO ROTATE RF connectors. Lots of cringe factor on YT watching students and pros alike spinning connectors onto VNA ports directly.

Totally confused ! I just bought an SVA1032X (same SA as this) based partially on this review - thanks ! There is a setting in the "BW" menu called "Average Type" with no useable explanation of what "averaging" operation in the device it controls. The manual says, "When trace average is on, the average type is shown on the left side of the display" however the average type selected here is ALWAYS shown on the left side of the display no matter what is turned on and off - anywhere. And there's no "Average" setting IN the BW menu, just this "Average Type" setting. What is this setting actually DOING ? Which average function does it pertain to ? I've been trying to get the simplest answers from Siglent support here in the US but they are absolutely USELESS !! There doesn't appear to be any other source of support for Siglent questions and problems. I'm almost beginning to wish I'd never heard of Siglent for confusion like this !

1- The cost to performance ratio is excessive in comparison to Keysight even though these are less expensive. And so, it is a waste of valuable funds for serious users. 2- It is excessively priced for the hobbyist. 3- It is aimed for perhaps the persuadable markets such as academia who are comparing to Keysight on the criteria of basic specs and appearance. In which case it may appear as a good deal. Make no mistake. These units should cost less than 10% that of products its trying to mimic in core specs and appearance. Not 50-75%. It may look like a PNA-X, but its a far cry from the tens of millions of dollars worth of ongoing research that go into the serious instruments by the likes of Keysight and R&S. The solution is simple. Dont buy 2-4 of these for your lab. Instead, maximize the value/dollar and buy 1-2 Keysight instruments.

Nice but I think I would have preferred it to be done slightly differently, by having 3 identical channels of 30V/5A, all of which could be paralleled or put in series, to allow you to do up to 30V@15A or 90V@5A in those modes, ideally by choosing how many channels to put in parallel/series, so if you only need to parallel 2 you can, or if you need more, you could do 3. having a fourth channel is nice too for 3.3V/5V system use. I have an old Korad 3 channel unit on my bench (as seen in many of my videos), would be nice to replace it with something better of similar physical size, such as this new Siglent unit.

Hi. Thank you for your sincere advice. The 3-channel series-parallel is great, like you said, to meet more people’s requirements for high power voltage and current. We also have power supplies that deliver high output voltage and current, you can check out our SPS5000X series, which offers a combination of 0 ~ 320V and 0 ~ 270A. Of course, I will send your advice to our technical team. Let's looking forward to the upgrades in the next-generation products.

@@SiglentVideo yes I reviewed the SPS5042X nearly 2 years ago, it is quite a beast but I want something more compact, such as this new 4000 series, according to the specs it is actually very slightly smaller than my current Korad 3 channel unit, which is perfect.

Amazing video, my respect, Could you tell me if we need tracking generator? What is her functuon..thanks
@SiglentVideo
@SiglentVideo 3 ай бұрын
Tracking Generator(TG) is a source used to provide a stable and good reference signal in a spectrum analyzer, TG is usually used as a scanning excitation to measure an external circuit network, at this time, the spectrum analyzer is equivalent to a network analyzer. TG outputs the same sine wave with the same scanning frequency, the frequency range of the TG output is the same as that of the spectrum analyzer, but the quality of the signal can not be compared with that of a professional signal generator.

I love my Siglent scope but one thing that upsetting is, we wanted to use the device in a lab which we have no control over the wifi SSID and password and Siglent doesnt allow us to use special characters or not even the wifi guest network which has no password, we get the error password at least must be 8 letters long... No password has to be right, and in this case its empty however system doesnt accept it. So sad after buying the dongle and the Wifi license. I think your next update, shall you have any, has to definetly fix this. I dont have wifi connection issues with any of my devices including embedded linux systems so I am assuming it has something to do with your UI.

Hi @SiglentVideo. Is it correct to connect SDG to the DUT via a T-piece and then to the oscilloscope? This would allow second output of the SDG to be used for other purpose. This configuration will also tell the oscilloscope the real value of the voltage on the input of a DUT. The presented connection method actually separates what DUT actually sees from what oscilloscope is presented by a separate channel.

Siglent Hi, can you make the oscilloscope outputs programmable. For example, we have a sine signal from peak to peak 10 volts, to program when the sine goes from 1 to 2 volts then the output let it turn on. This is the simplest example, but to be able to program absolutely any even complex tasks that you want, and get the desired signal at the output, which can be monitored by the same oscilloscope.
