The last time I went to Seattle was several years ago. I was going to Cross Cut Hardwoods on Harbor Island to buy two sheets of cabinet grade plywood. I came from the north down I-5 until stalled traffic forced me off at 65th Ave North and I headed over to 15th ave NW. I followed 15th down to the water front but work on the new sea wall led me into a series of detours until I ended up in west Seattle and having to head back east. There was a lot of work and detours heading east as well. I finally turned south thinking I'd be able to get to Cross Cut but it just headed me south to a mile or two of tents and broken down RV's. I finally got to Cross Cut and got my plywood. It took me more than 3 hours to get from Arlington to Cross Cut Hardwoods. The plywood was a little over $200.00 but it was nice, a good grade for the new kitchen cabinets I was making. A week later I got two letters from the Seattle police department. One was a warning that while on Harbor Island I had driven in the wrong lane. However I remember that section of road. There were road work signs propped up on the side of the road telling me to be in the EXACT lane that I got into. Apparently your cameras are not told about road work and changes to traffic flow that go along with such work. The next letter was a red light camera ticket for $195.00. The interesting thing about the red light camera companies, both out of Texas, is that when they put them in, the cities are forced to reduce the duration of the yellow light in order to get enough people running the red light to be profitable. I saw an article where a city was having more accidents and lengthened the yellow lights and the red light camera companies told those cities that if they didn't shorten the yellow lights again that they would pull their cameras. Obviously red light cameras have nothing to do with safety and are flagrantly about clipping drivers for $195.00 all day long, even telling the drivers that, if they pay it, it won't go on their driving record in order to entice them not to fight such a horribly wrong headed program. I don't go to Seattle anymore unless I absolutely cannot avoid it. It is a petty and vindictive town devoid of the warmth and friendliness they claim to be full of. Seattle Sucks and it sucks really bad. Have a nice day! I am, but then, I'm not in Seattle.

I agree with you 100%. I lived in and around Vegas, where it's sunny 364 1/2 days a year for 8 years and the people there (locals) in general are not happy people at all. On the flip side I've lived in Seattle for over 10 years where coming across a miserable person is beyond rare. Seattle is full of very optimistic and very happy people.
