It takes air that has gone through the whole body, goes through a filter and gets recirculated and sent to the mix manifold pressure to reduce load and burn less fuel.

Based on what the CBT explained, if system b fails, the PTU Control Valve can transfer the system A pressure to system B and uses system b fluid to supply pressure to L.E slats, flaps and autoslat system. Looks like system A failure is more critical than B
