20 years ago I spent time in this power plant when it was working. I marveled at all the blacksmith decorative window covering and floor grates. It showed amazing craftsmanship. Touring today there was no trace of it anywhere. What a disappointment!!!!

Really sad that nobody wants to put these on anymore because they're too cheap. These concerts while free to attend brough in a LOT of money. It's going around that the concerts aren't happening because the hotels don't feel they need to kick in the needed money, because people will book rooms regardless. I think maybe a nice old fashioned boycott should happen.

That power station was built by Sir William MacKenzie to supply the Toronto Railway Company with electricity for streetcars. It was "nationalized" by Adam Beck who controlled Ontario Hydro, and wanted to advance his political career by providing "power at cost". Read "The Railway King of Canada" by Rae Fleming for more. The TRC became the TTC in 1921.

...and if you collect the manure and put it through a biodigester, you can collect the resulting methane and process it to create LBG--liquid biogas--which can be use to fuel generators/vehicles/etc.
