Weird that Australian trains drive on the right on their rails when their roads drive on the left
@joshrouch4 күн бұрын
Our trains drive on the left but sometimes there are sections with BI directional signaling (Like here on the Albion-Jacana Line)

2:05 brings me nostalgic vibes when I was little. I can't believe that unit was exported and now serving in Jakarta. Sometimes, I take a trip with 205 series! Anyway, that's Yokohama Line 205 series which is now retired and some of them were exported to Jakarta

Ia this because the CWR was laid when it was too cold, or wasn't jacked enough to stretch it?

Geez! That looked like way more movement for such a “small” buckled rail. Glad everything was ok.

thought that was a glitch in video! Does This happens from extreme heat, wear & weaknesses over time? The track conditions around the area of Blackrocks’ Norfolk-Southern Train Disaster looks very similar to that kink, but thats the whole track! this is what happens when rails and staff are not looked after due to owners and regulators wanting profit over people. Black rot and countless others need to understand the infrastructure was there already before that took ownership and it’s not just about stocks, profits & trades.

in 1989 i was running with 4 electric units towing 10 000 ton in the Goldfields outside Johannesburg South Africa, when i saw a piece of the rail missing. I hit the brakes, knowing it was too late anyway. BUT we made it across - the train stopped a good 1km over the cut. It was a terrorist attempt to derail the train. but 2 things saved us. the cut was only about half a meter and in the middle was a wooden sleeper. The weight of the loco cut a groove in the wooden sleeper ( a cement one would have shattered ) and bent the edge of the rail on the opposite side downwards as it was hanging in the air. So the groove guided all the wheels across and the piece hanging down caught the wheel and guided it back onto the track.

They put that there as a speed bump to slow the train down and to make sure the conductor is awake. 😄

Like there is no more Economany class Red kangaroo service. the only one is the overland. & the cost of the journey these prices are a bloody rip off . Even the overland is disgrace ! i wish they could bring back these services but that won't happen ! The Goverment stuff every thing up for tourist !! even the interstate buses are Gone ! only Adelaide to Melbourne ! this country has gone down hill !! 🤬
