I struck him and won, but tbh I never EVER had so much fun in any game except when battling him, way better than even original Pokemon games. Not the first time, where we are meant to lose but the second time after *SPOILER* Telebos crashes. My Loatle carried me hard with his Penance and Blue Screen as support (he has been my favorite Temtem ever since, and his design and moves are so cool), while Nessla was the attacker. His battle theme OST though was one of the best sounds ever in a boss battle game. I Hope Temtem grows and adds more stories shortly!

General X got rid of someone who slandered me via identity theft, and got me falsely imprisoned based off negligence in the cities law system, and made an entire part of the story me having to prove innocence or I'm guilty, instead of guilty until proven innocent. And I don't even have the same hair or eye color. I'd thank General X if he didn't then seal club me. That last part I took personally. Banger of a theme tho.

This fight (in co-op) was the single best experience I have ever had in a monster collection game. And this song made it that much better.

Okay, now that the story has completed, I want to just say that I think General X should have been the main antagonist of the game. This first fight with him set up a final confrontation perfectly; showing you how helpless you were against his own powerful monsters and thus getting you invested in a rematch when you were stronger. That in tandem with his ruthless personality and imposing presence throughout Kisiwa almost guaranteed his status as the final boss; hell, the INTRO CUTSCENE of the game gave us the impression that he was the big bad! But unfortunately the game's story decided that a silly last-minute twist villain that anyone with half a brain could see coming miles away with zero buildup whatsoever was the better route to take. I honestly just think that's such a damn shame. Temtem was a game that always took itself surprisingly seriously and maturely, for the most part, and watching the story devolve into an anticlimactic and honestly kind of ridiculous ending was incredibly disappointing. I would have much preferred something simpler than what we ultimately got.

I don't know. I think it is not an uninteresting twist to have that guy being the bbg. I'd say it was brought in a less interesting manner. It was foreshadowed that someone was beyond the general and i think the friendly figure automatically inherited from generations of prof oaks being not so well meaning is not so bad: trust is not uninteresting or useless as a questionable concept. Arbury's writing really pales after Kisiwa and i think that's what hurts it the most, not even accounting for the fact that Kisiwa also had the realization characters really used temtem to kill people and kid murder. (even though it doesn't make a lot of sense, suspension of disbelief is already out of the window making everything partially symbolic anyway). I'd even add that it was pretty cathartic to stop people from bringing war and domination over an african-themed country at least for me. I saw no one say the writing for the rest of the story in Deniz or Omninesia is bad. Of course it is pretty cheesy that's kind of in the genra, pokemon games also have bad basic it is not the point and i think it is generally implicitely agreed upon. (And kisiwa's soundtrack was way too good too i think) But i absolutely agree on the idea that this general should have been explored more for the impact he has as a character and there could have been one more climax where we're confronted once again to the consequences of his rutheless violence before fighting him again, maybe with our victory preventing him to hurt a bunch of people resulting in the same satisfaction goal of stopping him this time

Eh, it did feel a bit jarring/tone-clash-y for the game's Team Rocket equivalent to end up being unironic warlords. I still like General X as an antagonist and think the actual big bad was kind of forced, but it did take some time to get used to the Belsoto Clan being a full-on _military_. I do wonder how the story will hit on a replay, knowing a bit more about the intended tone of the game and what Crema were going for with the antagonists.

Let's go over all things Max has done: 1. Sabotaged the tools and supplies of miners and smiths, freeze the town's main activity and economy. 2. Set up for days (or even weeks) to put an innocent person in jail for crimes they didn't commit. 3. Challenged Yareni, the dojo master in a way she views as 'not honorable' (I wonder if Max still considers themselve as a tamer) 4. Max is partly responsible for denying emergency aids to a group of injured people, stranded in a toxic-filled wasteland. You may argue that they didn't know about the attack on airship, but they knew that the mc was going to take a flight to Kisiwa but somehow had to end up in Quetzal. They knew enough that many people were going to suffer or even die for the sake of this plan. It's so ridiculous that they suddenly hesitate to murder someone after all those things they had done.

You are supposed to lose the battle, so, that inmediately nullifies Nuzlocke rules. Is literally the same as most first battles in both Pokemon and Temtem xd, in Pokemon is decided by the IVS+Nature+Critical hits if you either win or lose, no strategies or anything. In Temtem you literally are guaranteed to lose the first battle agaisnt Max.

@@marceloaguiar3269 Which, from my POV, doesn't make it a battle valid for Nuzlocke runs since it would force the player to WIN against a team of only 4 Temtem yeah but Temtem that are 30 levels above of yours, you cannot force a player to grind experience just for that battle, or to waste healing items like a madman.

I wish there was an achievement or a title for beating these bosses on the first go.. having went into this fight entirely blind and eking out a victory only to get some added dialogue and ultimately the same conclusion doesn't sit well with me.

More spoilers for Kisiwa I really think we will, I don't see Temtem killing off the main rival halfway through the game, I could honestly see hit popping back at the story's climax, maybe a tag-fight against General X?

i had trouble with lady lottie, first time i fought her, so i thought the first dojo must be even harder, so i lvl-ed up my whole team to lvl 20 AND got myself 2 electric tems. i went in there "well preprared" and still had a rough time (mostly because of very low SVs, switched out 4 of the temtems i had in that team because they were mostly in the red accross the board). but hey, i won first try

i swear, i want a guitar version of this for the final battle with this guy on the finalized game. because of the things did and the way he evolves on the story really warrants him it. (i'll not say why, but if you played some of the later battles, max gets muuuch more violent and intense, and i think the music should reflect that XD)
