I have a stuck lifter on cylinder 7. Are y’all saying that if I go ahead and spend the money on the complete AFM delete that the motor will still not be As reliable as the one I had in my 2001 Sierra? I had almost 350,000 miles on that baby.

Yes it should be, with or without arm delete. Most afm failures on the older style were due to loss of oil pressure from the relief valve wearing out both on oil pump and the the one on the oil pan, as well as the gasket on the lifter plate leaking internally, or poor Maintenance clogging the lifter oil filter under the sensor. What you see in this video is a result from a bad batch of lifters GM got, typically all replaced under warranty and the problem didn't return.

I think I coded it but not sure if it was actually needed since it came from the same year car. Can easily be done with ista d or just about any decent scanner. Coding isn't programming, more or less just telling the module what car it's in.

I have not installed one before but I am pretty sure the TM3D firmware can use it. There is an option for it within the settings. I believe there should be some instructions somewhere on Reddit

Did you remove the plastic clips from the old filter and place them back into the lines before connecting to the new filter? If so and they still pop off after clicking into place then they may be messed up, you can get new ones from the parts store. I think they are a help item.

12v, normally 5v is reserved for sensor references. Most all electric motors controlling anything on a car will use 12v as this will reduce the amp requirements over 5v. More volts available = less amps required to do the same job.

Still sounds rattled..check the Crankshaft position sensor and replace it ..and possibly the camshaft position sensors and camshaft magnetic adjusters ..very easy to do ..plus the oil should be changed a lot sooner than specified..oil burn does happen if left to normal change periods ..these M276 motors are touchy with oil and the sensors

If it moves like the way I've shown here, it's 100% the gear. If a solenoid was bad the gear either would never adjust and throw a code or it would apply oil pressure when it shouldn't causing it to be noisy about more than just at cold start and likely also throw a code.

Two 10m nuts will have to be removed from the back after removing the trunk lid cover. After that it’s easy.

You don't program the injector but you should take photos of the number on the side of the injector to enter into the injector compensation table with a scanner or ista

Turn the screw to your right all the way then plug in the new piece and turn the heat control all the way to hot and it will line up perfectly

Buy a 4 pin relay holder and a new 40 amp relay. Cut the wires and splice in the new relay holder and install the new relay. Zip tie the new relay holder to the other existing relay holder.

Other descriptions of this swap say that they had to swap the intake camshaft, but you only talk about camshaft position sensors. Did you leave the Ford camshafts and just change the position sensors on the side? I'm confused why people would change the camshaft if it isn't necessary, as it makes the job a lot more complicated. Did you have to take off the timing cover to replace cam position sensor, or just the sensor that bolts on the outside?

All the sensors bolt to the outside. I did not need to swap the camshaft. The only reason you would have to swap the camshaft would be if the timing wheel on the back of the camshaft that the sensor read was different. In my case I didn't see any differences. I did have to swap the crankshaft balancer as the ckp sensor reads the teeth on the back and there was some difference between the tooth count or spacing.

Wow...my hats off to you!!! I have the same problem....my friend nows how to install srereo equipment...by no means is he a professional tho that logic 7 stereo system is a bitch however he did successfully do the instal..however the first speaker on the line blew...that oval shaped subwoofer....while he was trying to fix the issue he just disconnected the blown sub....that was the start of my problems! He went thru and soddered all the wires where he tapped in....now the stereo deck wont even get power and my battery wont start every time...id now you probably have to look at the truck but do you think you might know where id start to trouble shoot?? Any advice would be greatly appreciated 💯

Whenever I come across something that was working fine until X was done to it and now this is wrong, the issue almost every time was caused by the work. If your battery keeps dying since the install then something was done wrong and the vehicle CAN bus no longer lets the vehicle sleep. I suspect a CAN bus wire was messed with or a module run on the bus is no longer sleeping thus keeping the bus awake draining the battery. This could also be why the speakers no longer work. If the amp and radio cannot talk to each other then you will get no sound. Almost all factory systems will have no sound at all without an amp.

Permatex right stuff if you want but a very thin coat. However I do not normally use any unless the block surface isn't perfect.

When you did engine prime on first crank after rebuild - how long did it take for engine oil warning lamp to go out? Or did you just let it fire and build up pressure at higher RPM then just cranking with spark plugs removed?

Unfortunately that was awhile ago so I'm not sure how I did it exactly but I would say about 15 sec with no spark plugs should be plenty. I don't remember the position of the oil filter off the top of my head but if it's in a position where you can fill it before installing it, do it.

The M276.8XX turbo motors do use a 6-point plug, whereas the M276.9XX NA motors use that strange 12-point 14mm plug. The turbo motors use NGK plugs and mine indexed nicely within +/- 45° if the injector.
