That did sound like no lubrication in the gearbox. I know this is a year later, but, maybe you still haven't fixed it. That wheel seemed to turn fine and true. Good luck/...

is the rear brake binding?

Check for lubrication in the final drive. There are several bearings near the rear wheel, and if no one put lube in there it will not last long. You need a manual to locate the drain and fill, or a gifted curious nature.

Some of the guys at "It Is The Ride" suggest checking the clutch and clutch bell housing, as the speed of the sound is happening faster than the wheel is turning.

Also check your gearbox fluid level.

You could be right. I had a bad wheel bearing on a Znen 250 scoot. (with TWO miles on it!) The bike is also known as the Titan, Redstreak Navigator, L-Roar etc, The Bearing seal was popped and splattering grease all over the place. I ended up ordering new bearings online (Made in Japan) and replacing them with a brass drift-pin. Check with the folks At "It Is The Ride" for help with all scoots Chinese.
