I have a similar looking one to the usb-c with audio one you showed. I soldered it in. I get the temporary light when plugging it into the c. When I put the battery in however it still just flashed the light for a second or two then goes out just like without the battery. Any idea what could be wrong? All of the points appear to be soldered correctly to me.

Top xplanation of the trimui. Im looking to getting one myself, but looking at your video, i thought the display looked a bit dark and not so bright..so i was wondering, is that the max brightness?

Great video! Looking to upgrade my SP with a IPS but not sure if it it would fit in the NES version GBA SP or if any modifications to the original shell is needed?

Question does the kit come with that one wire you need to solder or do you need to buy it separately?

For 38 dollars, just below the 41 dollar tax free customs, I had to try one. I'm really into this oddball tech, ordering a new battery is probably the only thing I need to worry about.

i'm going through the possible issues with mine, i noticed last time my game crashed the system was hot as well, so i was wondering if it was due to dust and general ventilation

Its crazy how differnt stuff is now. Kids now got no idea. I remeber when i got the pocket after the dmg and thought it was amazing. Really cant go wrong with the 3 new ones. I found good deal on 2 q5w but kinda wish they had the bigger one to use on og hardware.

The FP looks slightly bigger. I prob should just get the Funnyplay but the tech in me wants to build one myself. Although its hard to find a doner GBC for decent price these days.

I tried to do this, but couldnt get the metal part soldered off. Ended up just moving the white little switch underneath it around a little and put the whole thing back together, and that seemes to do the trick (for now).

This was very helpful. Especially taking apart the potentiometers and bending the contact part. My little tip of anyone reads this; don't bother putting the screws back, because it's just going to happen again in a year and you'll have to take it apart again.😊

hello! im mostly new to soldering, but i have all of the parts needed currently for the GBC build i want to do. i have the OLED screen, replacement speaker (the one on my GBC is kinda trashed), and funnyplaying button led kit. i think i should be able to handle the screen, but i just wanted to ask if you had somewhat of a list of soldering equipment required for GBC mods? also, where exactly should i be soldering, on a desk, on a rubber mat, something like that? im gonna do some practicing before doing the GBC definitely, but as im kinda just heading into this myself im not fully sure where to start. the GBC is gonna be my first "big project" once im comfortable with what im doing, and i hope to end up moving onto circuit bending some toy instruments i have. but i figured i would ask just for the GBC requirements/advice, since your video is the most informative and straight-to-the-point of all the other videos ive seen. thanks!

Holy crap! It worked! 😂 I was a little unsure when I got into the part itself, and got a small stress mark in the plastic when I first bent it. But all seems good. 30 minutes in and no more drift. Now I just need to fix the other 3 that have it.

Hi ! Thanks for the review ! Could you help me ? ;) I have a problem with my Line Doubler (Bitfunx, which was updated without problem on the Kaico site) and my Sony Bravia screen from 2009: every time I launch it with my Nintendo 64 (PAL Eur) , after a few minutes, whatever the game (Goldeneye, Mario Tennis...), the screen starts to bug for only a few seconds (colors, but also sometimes black screen for 2 seconds followed by a return in the game). I absolutely do not have this problem when using a SCART or direct HDMI connection to this TV. Do you have a solution? I don't understand why this problem only happens for a few seconds (if there was a real compatibility issue, wouldn't the problem be constant?). Thank you in advance for your help!

Not to be too picky, but the original "phat" DS didn't have backlight. Those screens are front-lit TFT Reflective displays, just like the original GBA had. The light is a front LED style just like the original GBA SP. That's why they weren't that bright and why the colors weren't as rich as the TRUE-backlit screens on the DS Lite and future iterations. I don't need my DS screens any brighter, but I DO appreciate the much larger color depth and contrast that true-backlit LED screens give. It's a night-and-day difference in the quality of the game's graphics.

The problem with my controller is that the RB button is too sensitive, i mean, just by a little touch the RB gets clicked. Could this be the solution too? I don't trust myself to do it. Maybe the clicker broke just the tip making it annoyingly easier to click.
