So sorry for electricity power cuts in your country Iraq. Why do Iraq get power cuts when it's an oil supplying country?

I just had some ideas for an alternative or a 2.0 versión of this controler: -Add bumpers and triggers just like normal controllers, L1 and R1 for changing gears. The triggers used as in normal controllers for racing games brake and accelerator(this for techniques such as heel toe to be easier -move the camera joystick to the right side of the controller so you can control the camera without letting go the steering wheel -Add just one pedal on the right side for it to be a clutch since no controler has 3 triggers to recreate a clutch (i just would love to be able to use a clutch in a controller) -And Thats pretty much it, the layout of buttons can be reworked to allow everything i just listed. Amazing idea, i literally cant understand why nobody thought of something like this since the old one you showed, cheers mate.

i feel like you should put the thumbstick on the left and move the throttle and broke to behind the controller and use your index and middle finger for those. and with your thumb you can turn the camera that way you dont have to lift off of anything to look around. Hope you take this into consideration. God Bless you!

I want a controller like this with clutch and "steering wheel" to practice parking in Games like "City Car Driving". I know there are wheels like G25 or something, but it just takes too much space.

Nice but i would put the camera controls on the rear like triggers and move the acceleration pedal up an inch to allow for easy brake access

Nice design! Many years ago I built something very similar out of lego and a broken old logitech joystick. Only single axis for forward and brake so I used an RC style grip trigger system, I was amazed how well it worked. The question remains, why does no company make anything like this?

Would be even better if you had some sort of spring system with the rotational wheel. So that it returns to center on its own.

“The game you’re looking at 5:54 is actually SnowRunner, which is the sequel to MudRunner. They share a lot of similarities, like the off-road driving and challenging terrains, but SnowRunner adds snowy environments and even more advanced mechanics!”

Hey man, amazing project and I'm not trying to hate/put you down but I have some questions about your invention: -Since this doesn't have force feedback, isn't it basically the same as a normal controller (performance wise)? -Adding on, is it really necessary to have 900 degrees of steering when most modern racing games have smoothing techniques to mimic wheels? - Perhaps you could look into making this a mod kit/attachment for standard controllers, so you yould have extra buttons for shifting/clutch and other advantages I have the same problem you have with wheels, they are very expensive and inconvenient. Hoping that a better alternative is out soon! Awesome project!

A rotating wheel, even a small one, allows far more precise input than a controller joystick. I've built one myself, it does make a huge difference. I agree 900 degrees is probably overkill for most people, my one had more like 270 and even that was plenty for racing sims.

Seen the dent molded in the wheel, and wondered if a free-spinning nub/grip could be implemented there, kinda like the ball sometimes seen on semi-truck/big rig steering wheels...

I feel the pain of 'steering wheels are too big and you need to rearrange your desk each time' SO MUCH. My particular grief is the exact same thing for aircraft yokes. Same situation. Do the designers of these things not need keyboards or mice? 😅 I spent months designing my own yoke device here exactly for this same problem. On mine, I chose to design it so that the yoke itself detaches from the desk-mounted part, like a racing car steering wheel. All the electronics live on the detachable part, and the desk assembly only has the hardware for the pitch axis, and the usb connector. I designed it be extremely low profile (under 40mm total height), so it could live permanently underneath my desk surface. It's mounted on drawer slides also, so the end of the main shaft doesn't poke out when it's stowed away. And I totally agree with your comment on the thumbstick thing. It's baffling how even high end controllers a lot of the time don't have actual axes or buttons for camera and cursor controls. The moment you have to reach for the mouse to look around, all the immersion of having a control device breaks down completely. Anyhow, this is a great project 👍 Have you considered adding extra buttons or switches for gear shifting? You could probably add two or four paddles on the backside. (lower paddles for clutch, like in F1)
