Her coach went to jail on charges on four counts of child molesting and three counts of sexual misconduct with a minor. He later committed suicide in his jail cell.

The fact they didn't put Chellsie Memmel on the team is a disgrace considering how well she performed at the 2003 World Championships as basically a rookie...after she was called after the several athletes were injured at that competition...she did her job there...why leave her off the team....Although i love Annia Hatch and she is extremely tdlfnted Chellsie is a better performer on all 4 events and much more consistent....

She’s great. She’s not a robot, she a mature person and athlete. I feel like almost all the other athletes are like robots when they are interviewed. “It’s such an honor…I did my best and it *happened* to be good enough.” Lol really?

I am glad that Bridget Sloan got the sixth spot. I think that even with a healthy Shayla Worley, Bridget deserved that spot based on her performance at trails and her consistency. No shade to Shayla, Jana, Ivana, and all other athletes vying for that spot. I just think that Bridget’s role as a consistent across all 4 event, humble team player was the most important factor that put her on the team.

I remember watching this with much excitement because I really wanted to know who would make the team, but I really wish they had not done it this way. The reality TV craze was really booming at this time and I get that, but this was cruel and unusual. A simple press release would have sufficed for the fans.

No way. We want to see the announcement. Stop focusing on the ones who didn’t make it and be happy for those that did!

it was really giving American's next top model vibes, especially at 4:30 where the narrator goes "WHO will be on Marta's team?". Very similar too "WHO will be America's next top model?"

A lot of comments saying this shouldn’t have been televised, but people forget Olympic trials used to mean something and you could see right there if people made the team. Now Olympic trials is worthless. They pick the team that they want probably months in advance. Gymnastics really went downhill in the 2000’s.

I do believe Nastia looked over her shoulder to make sure nobody was watching her while she’s serving herself. I can imagine the fear and anxiety every time they went to the ranch. I’m glad it’s permanently closed so no other gymnast will suffer like that again.

I don’t know why everyone hates this method of announcement? Isome win, some lose...that real life. Not everyone is going to make the team. I mean how many times did they Svetlana crying when she failed miserably, or her team didn’t win gold? Why did they show Kerri Strug crying and getting lifted off the mat? Cause it’s real life and people wanna see that. This is no different.
