It's most likely a faulty or dirty actuator. Mine had to be replaced because it was seizing in the closed position. I used wd-40, and got it working for a short time, but eventually had to replace it. The wiring harness is a terrible design from Ford. I'm glad they improved it on the 13th gen.

Me too! After I made this video, I discovered it. I felt dumb, but it's still a silly design. I prefer the older 1 piece funnel

It might be your ignition coil. It could be bad, or even a bad ground for it. The ignition coil should be fairly cheap to replace. Let me know if it works out

Thank you, I went out with my family, my sons door wouldn't open, and I had to go around and move the carseat to the other seat. Got to the store, and the other side done the same thing. Got home, pulled the lock up, and started working. Presuming either got stuck and gonna be the wires. Next time it happens, imma tale a deeper look into the wires, but at the moment, all seems to be good

@SmashingPunkFan will do, wife wasn't exactly happy that it happened due to literally just buying the truck yesterday and I already had to throw $200 for 3 keys. (Got a key guy) apparently my remote was trashed and was the only one and it locked up my f150 at 80mph only so between that and the doors she wasn't happy, but at the moment they are still working perfect.

@SmashingPunkFan
@SmashingPunkFan 27 күн бұрын
Have you used an OBD2 scanner and reset the codes? Drive 50+ miles for the computer to drop them. Otherwise, they could remain in the PCM as pending codes. If the problem persists, you might have a frayed wire or another sensor is out

This helped me fix my 2010 F150, same issue with the cut wires at the connector, and I didn't have to remove any door panels either. The cuts were close enough to the connector to require removing the wires from it, which I did with a Terminal Removal Tool kit. There were 5 wires cut (!!), even a big one, used a mixture of connectors and soldering to repair them and it's all working great now! Thanks!!
@SmashingPunkFan
@SmashingPunkFan 27 күн бұрын
You're absolutely welcome! I've thought about that afterwards, not removing the panel. It definitely could save time. 5 wires cut? That's insane! I'm glad you were able to fix it. Thank you for watching!

@SmashingPunkFan

No to the AC lines. I was able to wiggle the alternator through the top side by removing the radiator fans. Worse case scenario, the radiator itself can be removed as well. My explorer is a non-turbo engine

If your door doesn't unlock, how do you open your rear door?
@SmashingPunkFan
@SmashingPunkFan Ай бұрын
You might be able to grab the lock stem and force it up. I've had mine "seized" before, aside from the wires needing repairs. If you're able to open, spray a small amount of wd-40 into the lock latch to help with sticking.

Thanks for this video, my daughter is a mobile groomer and her 9500 on her trailer was having trouble starting, first the choke cable broke ( a bike derail cable will fix that, went to a bike shop, 4 dollars. May have to melt a new end) but that wasn't the only issue, the low oil light would blink while cranking, didn't think much of it, but then it was still having issue of hard start and was randomly shutting down but she never saw a low oil light( I think the sensor got coated with off gassing of oil cause she never changed the oil first 800 hrs🙄) but I just now found the yellow wire, disconnected it and it runs fine now... I also saw a bunch of vids on the CO detection monitor killing the engine. So someone else put out a vid to just duct tape over the sensor... did that also... the thing is always outside, so not worried about that... thought I would post my trouble shooting here... since I found you, others will be looking also... Thanks a million... Hopefully she will not have anymore issues... her mechanic (dad) is tired of working on it...😅

Being a mobile mechanic, whether it's a dad or brother, or even husband has its perks. Getting stuff done! I'm very happy this video could help you. My C02 sensor is giving me grief too. I'll definitely give that trick with the duct tape a try.
