Some TSA get kickbacks from property seized by federal agencies. Yup, look it up.

I also wear a pair of throwaway orphan socks through the detector. We all have them....... They're either in a huge pile on top of your dryer, whether in a laundry basket over in the corner...... As if the dryer gremlin is ever going to return the matching sock the plastic lids they have disappeared😂 I have no intention of taking these nasty things back home and doing anything with them. Also, if you are already cleared through the scanner and your luggage is on the other side, for heaven's sake, pick up the bin and move to the bench that is out of the way of everyone else!

I carry a TSA cares card outlining my PTSD, my prosthetic and my pins (dv and cancer survivor). At first I felt like this was a waste of time. But as I set off detectors almost every day going into my courthouse, I've gotten used to letting unfamiliar guards know that they need to wand me because I have pins. This saves a lot of time when I go through TSA because I don't have to go through the monitor and then deal with the beeping and then step over to the side to have them wand me again. Sometimes they'll ask me the area that may go off and I can just let them know my spine and my neck.

Impressive content, Smart Travel Guide. Looking forward to seeing your next upload from you. I clicked the thumbs up symbol on your video. Keep up the wonderful work! With the new carry-on size regulations coming into effect, how do you think this will impact the way travelers pack for domestic flights?

Do you have the right to keep with you your money in a belt ? Usually they obligate to put in to screen it I was robed twice and they did not putbit through the screen but aoart then I reakize they open the belt but I was not allowed to reclaim. They know how to intimidate passengers they told me i had to put the belt with the mobey in the tray

Pro tip: Don’t put only your phone or wallet in the bins where everyone can see them. Put them in a jacket pocket, purse or fanny pack and then put that as your last item into the machine and don’t leave it until it goes all the way in. Then greet the TSA guy who gives you permission to walk through the scanner. My boss got his laptop stolen in the security line.

Yes TSA agents observes you as soon as you approach those lines leading to the check-in counter until you board the plane .I use to work at the airport in Germany and because we were working with American airlines like Delta and Continental airlines we had to take those trainings on how to spot potential red flag passengers , what to say and how you interact with passengers .Normal German airlines don't do this.Yes one of our jobs was to observe the people ,observe the cleaners on what they bring to the aircraft and observe the passengers at the waiting area for boarding .

Right - never let your belongings out of your sight when going through security. Except if you try to do that you're going to jail on terrorism charges. They take all your belongings and they do whatever they want, out of your sight for as long as they want. It's like "Never EVER give your Social Security number on line" - but as soon as you call your bank or credit card or investment company you are REQUIRED to give your full social security number, which they then repeat back to you verbally, just to make sure any hacker has it right. Then of course you will read a week later about a "massive" data breach at that institution, where they apologize "despite our best efforts - we handed every bit of personal information about you to the Bulgarian Mafia...." All these security admonitions are useless and meaningless as they physically require you under threat of bodily harm to disregard all of them.

I think an important Hint is to look up the baggage allowances on all the airlines your travelling on in a trip. Big differences in size and weight. So check it out before you leave. The big carry on only craze is not working for me . Those are now suitcases. And making no room left at all for any one with a small carry on, and now have to even pay for carry on because of the craze ! as so many people are doing it. Geez. And the backpacks etc. - the personal items bags are bigger than my carryon ever was! and all up top too, with jackets and bags of snacks. Over and over no room/Made into a madness. idk maybe airlines fault for going with pay for checked luggage vs building it into the price of the airfare . I am old and it is just sad. Does anyone remember when flying was , in economy, a nice, treated well, comfortable , experience.

That’s all fine and dandy and I do have the TSA pre ✅but at Boston Logan after a 35 day cruise and I had one small carryon, they asked if I had human remains in my bags and of course I didn’t; they took everything out of that bag and I barely made my flight as they were getting ready to close the gate. It was chocolate in my bag🤦‍♀️ I was livid but I was fortunate that I did make my flight. Side note: they also stopped a gentleman in front of me and did him the same way.

TSA will tip off Federal agents (like DEA) if you have a few thousand, or more, of U.S. currency. Then the DEA to detain you and eventually illegally search your bag just to confiscate your U.S. currency. This is illegal but it’s done more than you think.

Great way to get people arguing with TSA officers. Going there with an attitude will definitely not go well for you. They may not have the power to arrest you, but they can make your life worse by putting you on the No Fly List. That would suck worse than getting arrested. Don't listen to this post there just trying to get people riled up by starting confrontation. TSA is not there to bust your balls there there to make sure you get up in the air safely and land safely. They don't want any trouble from anyone. It's simple if someone comes to your place of work and you tell them what to do your hoping they will listen to you and your company rules so just do the same when you go to their place of work. Follow the rules not just for you but for everyone, and you'll breeze thru the line and make your flight on time. I been flying for over 10 years and never missed a flight. I do what they ask of me I get my stuff at the end of the table, and I go home just in time to kiss my wife and play with my dog.

There are never " scibbled codes " Boarding passes might ( rarely ) have the codes printed on them, not scribbled by TSA officers. And all TSO's are Federal Officers not " agents " Transportation Security Officers. Your best advice is to be calm and cooperative to speed your way through. NEVER RAISE YOUR VOICE! Or, start a confrontation.

I was once delayed on a flight, and had just a few minutes to get all the way across Heathrow for my connecting flight. I literally ran all the way, and was screened on arrival at my gate. I was sweaty and anxious, and they picked up on it. They took EVERYTHING out of my bag, even checking between the pages of the book I'd brought for my flight. Fortunately, the plane waited for me and I made the connection. :)

this will sound picky and I am sorry but...we travel Princess mostly. We are also people that use our staterooms a lot. Consequently we use room service a lot. And the room service food is awful. I was sick for ten days on my last cruise and was forced to eat room service food. Not only was it very limited but it was poorly made and thrown together. eg: twice I ordered chef salad. The first time was pretty good...on lettuce was ham, turkey, cheese and egg. Second time it was lettuce and about a tablespoon of cheddar cheese. That was it. The sandwich bread was so dry you would choke on it.. I wish they would fix it.

One of the great comments here is that the screeners are not law enforcement officers, even though they want you to believe this. In fact the TSA had the name of the position changed from "screener' to "TSA Officer". Why, because the screeners said they were not be respected by the traveling public. Although they may wear a badge, sewn on to their outer garment, they are not law enforcement officers, they cannot arrest you or physically detain you...that's right, they do not have the authority to put hands on you...that's why the narrator saiid, the TSA calls the local police to handle situations needing LEO's

0:45 - Another dirty secret: avoid touching that dinner tray. Trust me when I say it is never ever cleaned. If you need a dinner tray, at least pack 2-3 Lysol or Purell wet wipes in a small ziploc bag and take it in your carry-on. That way you can wipe down the tray AND the metal parts of your arm rests. Those are filthier than the lavatory!

The 'not arriving 2 hours prior' "secret" is not smart. Depending on how you're traveling, you may need to check your bag. Sometimes even with online check-in, the airline will want to see your documents. Then there's security. That's always a crap-shoot. Also, flight time is not the same as BOARDING time (usually 45 min prior to wheels up). Never mind if you're coming back from another country and need to go through passport control. Sometimes, even if you think you're being responsible by getting to the airport 3 hrs prior, you may get snarled at passport control and end up having to run. So if you want a stress-filled experience on departure day, show up at the last minute.

True. I guess some people are shopaholics. I've never felt the urge to shop like crazy if arriving at the airport early. I come two hours early because it ALWAYS takes over 30 minutes to get through security no matter what time of the year it is or what airport I'm at. I just read a book and listen to MP3s in the hour between my flight and security check-in. Oh, and it helps me snag a good seat at the gate if the flight is full.
