Good voice, wrong character. We're not stupid. They can't just slap the label black on a white character to shut us up. I'm so tired of the constant tokenization in every media. Just create new original stories and characters. Africa, les Caraïbes and every country with, for lack of better words, "blacks" have more than enough folklore, myths and urban legends to write new stories and characters. But it seems that both Hollywood and Broadway are too lazy (maybe even racists...🤔) to even try to do so. Smh

I'm not trying to be mean but why do you think that's why? Maybe they chose her because she ACTUALLY just has a good voice! Sorry if I'm being rude tho :) Also this is a unpopular opinion but i honestly don't think the race matters like for example if a white person played Tiana i don't really care if she has a good voice and can act like her then its good for me! But that is your opinion and i respect it! ❤

The whole premise of Legally BLONDE is the fact that people are underestimating Elle and treating her as dumb because she's BLONDE. It has nothing to do with her being black, therefore it doesn't matter what race she is. And in my opinion, a person who is mad at someone's race when it literally has nothing to do with their ability to execute a character is the most racist one. All the girl needs is to be blonde, and she checked that box already. Get a grip.

So coloring your hair blonde makes you a different race? I think they just cast this girl because she’s the right fit for the role, and I’ve seen many races other than white play Elle Woods. The only physical requirement for the role is being pretty and having blonde hair, which this girl does!
