I've done a lot of kool shit in my life but one of my top 3 was sitting with my 2 best friends in the back lounge of a tour bus smoking bowl after bowl after bowl, playin video games with Tom Araya for 2hrs before they hit the stage (God Hates Us All tour). My friend was on the lighting crew with Slayer & brought me & a buddy down to Atlanta just days after they'd made the War At Warfield movie. Tom & my friend had developed a friendship & Tom was the one to invite us down to the show. One of the koolest hosts ever.... I never tell that story but just felt like it while watching this. Thank You Slayer!!! You've meant much to my life since I was 14 & bought Reign In Blood. The music of Slayer to this day (49 yrs old) makes me 10' tall when I put it on! Id hate to think of a life without Slayer, it lifts me when I'm low, gives me confidence when I need it most. I saw them on this tour, it was my final time seeing them & my daughter's first, she was 16. She certainly wasnt a metal fan but that night she understood why it means so much to me, she threw out her voice screaming that night & later told me she even shed a happy tear seeing her old man in his true element being his true self with a true love... I love & miss you so much tonight baby girl, I'd burn down the world to have you back but it's memories like that, that allow me to wake up everyday. Long Live Slayer!!!

despite all their success , this band had no real friendship in it and we learn today alot about it. thats the very sad part. those guys were lucky to have this success and could not use it in a good way between them.

I got lucky to see them live in 2012. They absolutely kicked ass and didn't even disappoint. Watching this made me realize how much Tom was taking in that the time had ended. You can hear how much he appreciates his fans. This band made my childhood and teens absolutely kick ass. Thank you Slayer for the badass music. Happy retirement

I will NEVER be able to accept the 20 foot deep security most in front of stages now. I got to see all of the legendary acts pressed up against the 4ft tall stage, with the base of the lead singer's mic stand within my arm's reach. The past was better. This century sucks.

The beginning of the end when Jeff Hanneman died of liver cirrhosis. Slayer was never the same again after Jeff died and later, Tom didn't want to tour for a very long time anymore.
