I wimped out in my Tacoma and turned back. I didn't know I'd be nearly rock crawling. 😔

What size jackery are you using? I'm debating on either the PT series or the AJ. Right now the AJ is on top. Appears to have more insulation.

ECO mode breaks in the compressor better and the fridge will last much longer on ECO. I never use MAX.

So this is a year old. Hopefully you can reply to my question. I would love to do exactly what you are doing. If your bumper brand suggest you can tow from those D ring tabs, what brand is it? All the one's I've seen state emphatically NOT to tow from these tabs. Odd since they are made to yank the entire Jeep out of a mudhole. Maybe it's a liability thing. I know Blue Ox has this adaptor. Even they say only use if the bumper maker says it can be used. Another question if you will. How has this held up over this year?

I really like the skid plate. It works well and keeps the diff protected. You can teeter with it on a rock and not have any concerns about damaging the diff.

Oh you were on the north island. I was planning on going down to Port Isabel to get on the south island in October and then drive up to the East Cut. That's what was on the other side of that waterway channel in your video. That waterway is there to have access to Port Mansfield. Unfortunately I heard from another KZbinr channel (Coastal GX) that US Parks and Wildlife have closed the East Cut access path down and won't say why. Its a bummer too because I wanted to camp out there for a few days.

Your steering wheel doesn't lock because it doesn't have a lock maybe. The early JK's had them but from what I have read but starting in 2009 they got rid of that so you wouldn't have to have the key in the ignition to flat tow. My 2012 JK doesn't lock either which came in handy when I was installed some HD ball joints. I had to move the knuckle from side to side to get better access with a wrench on those 12 point hub bolts. That's when I noticed mine didn't lock lol.

The exhaust being there made diagnosing my trans issue so much harder. I have a bad trans leak, but ive never seen any drips before today so I never knew about it, I just knew my Jeep was driving funny. Its dripping like 3 drops per second after a drive, not leaking when parked over night. Every drop lands on the exhaust and evaporates from it. Found this video hoping thered be a way to check the trans fluid in it (its a manual obviously, so I didnt expect to be able to check). Either way, this will be helpful after I fix my leak :)

This is the first video that I found mentioning the oil pick up tube gasket. Thank you so much for sharing this. After cleaning my oil pan gasket and reading a few forums, it seems that the critical collar gasket which is the "lower" gasket made out of RTV, it's not always needed to be changed, right?

Hey Mate - What do you folks think of these after a year ? The stock rubicon sliders on my JKU Rubi are annoying the hell out of my wife as she's kind of short and needs a step.
@OurJeepAdventures
@OurJeepAdventures 2 жыл бұрын
For off roading they are wonderful. You can smash against a rock and they protect the Jeep perfectly. For a daily driver though, not so good. The step is so high its useless. My wife is short as well and is unable to use it as a step to get in the Jeep. She has to grab the hand holds we installed inside and pull herself into the Jeep.

Good video. Jeep looks awesome too. Would this tow system handle light off road work? Specifically, towing a Jeep on light gravel and dirt roads to get to the trails.
@OurJeepAdventures
@OurJeepAdventures 2 жыл бұрын
I've towed it on gravel roads and even some pretty rough feeder trails in off road parks without issue. The only problem I encountered was pulling up a pretty steep rock and gravel hill once because my Dodge was having trouble getting traction because of the weight of the Jeep. That was not a fault with the Blue Ox towing system though.

I’m having trouble with death wobble have you ever experienced it have you ever dealt with it have you ever fixed it can you diagnose it I’ve been looking online it’s hard to find a good video that helps diagnose it and helps pinpoint the problem please respond if you have any good ideas
@OurJeepAdventures
@OurJeepAdventures 2 жыл бұрын
I've not had death wobble. We upgrade all of our front end components to handle larger tires. Ball joints, tie rod, track bar, drag link are all upgraded. We also keep up with tire balancing. There are MANY things that can cause it. You might want to take it to an off road shop, not a dealership, and have it looked over.

No, it's definitely maintained to a degree. Especially after they ruined it by paving the rock step back in 2007-ish.😒 They also go in there after every downpour and fix the washed out creek crossings.
