Hey im doing the same thing tonight on my 99 chevy 2wd just curious if i can put my inner tie rods in without taking out the steering rack?

Yes, you can. There is a tool that you will need to remove them. It can be a bit pricey if you are only doing one rack. You can go to your local Parts Store and use their loaner tool if you don’t want to purchase one.

This is just my guess on today's cost. Labor rates are so high from when I work in shops. If my memory serves me right. When I worked in the automotive field, labor rates were around $20 to $50 an hour. The labor rates are now hitting as high as, and over, $135 an hour. If we are talking about just an outer rocker. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 3K to 6K, depending on the repair shop. If we are talking about the inner and outer rockers. I would say somewhere around 4K to 8K. Again, depending on the repair shop and location.

I appreciate that. It's all about the details, even if it's not visible to the eye. I like challenges, so if I don’t know how something is completed or repaired. I seek out how it's done and try my best at learning how to complete the job.

By-Relic is the only way to go for power windows. Also those green plastic seat backs are worth saving.

I would like to have some modern things in the vehicle. It must be able to be “hidden” to look original. No LS swaps, only aftermarket parts that will work on the original block. I am trying to convince my better half with power windows, she's not on board yet. I have looked into the old school handles that are the power switch. Time will tell. Thanks for your comment.

I think its probably time to change mine on my 06 pontiac grand prix gxp I got a p0301 code cylinder misfire and im positive its oil leaking from the gasket on the spark plug

"That's what she said"…. All jokes aside. Its can be very difficult to remove. Just keep at it. Working around the sides and it will eventually break free.
