I'd recommend it. It kept throwing a light for the O2 sensor at the header. I'd swap it out for a wideband and find a way for the sensor to cooperate with the stock ECU via a tuner.

@graphite81
@graphite81 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks man! When I swapped the intake, I did not. However, when I swapped the full exhaust, I eventually got a P0420 code, which means the O2 sensor in the cat was picking up an error. As far as the extension, one was provided with the DC Sports manifold because the location was moved further back.

I'm not familiar with swapping the engine, but typically you'll also need the wire harness, and Ecu. As far as the transmission, I'm not sure. Hey man I’m looking at a 2007 accord 2.4 , might be a dumb question but the valve cover doesn’t say vtec or anything an I was just wondering if all of the 4cyl came with a vtec engine an do you know if there would probably be any type of difference in engine performance I just don’t want to get screwed
@graphite81
@graphite81 2 жыл бұрын
I'm pretty sure all '03-'07 Accords came with vtec. Both the K24 and the J30. Vtec opens up the valves longer at higher rpms to let more air in and out of the cylinder. As far as engine performance when you get the car, that will depend on hiw well the previous owner(s) took care of it. It will come with vtec, but there are a TON of mods available to push some serious power out of a K24.

I threw on the Street Basis set. It was nice for daily driving, and it even held up well for some track use. It was also the cheaper option Lol. The SB set doesn't come with top hats, so you'll have to use the stock ones. But again, I loved them. You could lower the car more than I did here. I only dropped it 1.5" all around, but i think the lowest you could drop it was 4."

I was about to buy PLM headers, how does your headers compare?
@graphite81
@graphite81 2 жыл бұрын
There's a flange in the middle that requires 3 bolts, and 2 gaskets to put it together. The bolts that were supplied were pretty short to thread into one of the flanges, and eventually backed out. After I swapped them out for longer bolts it was great! I like the style of the PLM because it slips together, but I didn't go with that because at the time, I didn't see anything for a US-spec Accord. They had them for the TSX's then, but the description said it didn't fit. As for a performance comparison, I'm not sure unfortunately, I never saw them in the wild.

How did it feel with the intake, and exhaust setup compared to stock? You ever got it tuned? Did it ever heat soak when it gets hot?
@graphite81
@graphite81 3 жыл бұрын
With the intake and exhaust, there was an immediate difference! It felt like it's wasn't 'stuck in the mud' anymore. I never got it tuned either! The K&N intake came with a heat shield and rubber seal, and I also added gold heat wrap on the outside towards the engine to minimize the heat soak. Being that it was a short-ram intake, there was going to be heat soak. But after a couple of weekends at the road coarses, I didn't notice any effects in throttle response or acceleration. So I believe the shielding did its job!
