@antoniooquendo3812 thanks, personal preference, in fact, I used them as my way of saying these builds out did the original cobras, the way they should have been made back in the day, my version of the "could have been-should have been cobra IIs.

My very first automobile was a Brand new 1976 V8 4 speed coupe, I was 17 when I signed the loan papers, and took delivery. I ordered it with no A/C, and Traction Lok differential, and the coupe was 150lbs. lighter than the fastback. My goal, whip every 1976, and later stock GM vehicle that I could line up against, on the street. Take a guess how many I lost too?

Those rims on the Blue car look like ones that Car Craft magazine put on a Vega project car from 77 or 78. The car was on the cover of the magazine, I think it was Car Craft, not sure. Anyway maybe some of you all might remember, it was basically a yellow car with some blue accents, and tinted windows, fender flares and some other stuff. It’s been a long time ago, so can’t remember too much. I graduated in 77 and used to get all those Chevy type publications.👍🏻🤓

I think the coupe looks better. I bought a 76 coupe in 1978 when I worked at a Ford dealer. Mine had the 2.8 V-6, 4 speed. I did have some head work done to it and had a custom set of dual exhaust with some cherry bomb’s. Mine looked good. I leveled the front and rear suspension by adding 1” aluminum spacers on top of the front springs and got and added an extra leaf spring from an Econoline van. I worked in the front end and power steering department at the dealer. So the rubber snubber that went to the front suspension of the F150’s and mounted it at both ends of the extra leaf spring, worked well, a little stiff thought. I had some Firestone Super Sport tires, 60’s all the way around mounted on some American made Anson deep dish slotted mags. Car looked pretty tough, minus the 302. I really wanted that engine. Oh well long time ago.

WOW! I Love what you did to these two Hot Rods! Reminds me when I had my "78" Ghia with the 2.4! One day I had it parked out in the back driveway and some kid came up the alley noticing it with his "75" Rally with the T-Tops and he offered me $500 for my Sally for parts, and I told him I would never sell her just so he could cut her up, so then he laid out $600 on my car and I was like, OK I'll go get the pink slip! LMSFAO!

What was ford thinking when they decided to kill the mustang this is the garbage you see in europe and Australia now these two are maybe the best version on the planet but what ford did to this brand was criminal
@phestur134 ай бұрын
They were a victim of the decade, everything from 74 on became lame, smog Era, de-tuned, all due to the gas shortages and looming perceived doom. However, the mustang II is what actually saved the mustang line, by '73 the mustang became a big and bloated land yacht, sales had drastically fallen off and it was slated to be terminated. The smaller and at that time sporty version of the II staved off the axe, yes, they were powerless 4 and 6 cylinder, only a handful had the v8, and still under 170 HP. But the rack and pinion steering was hi tech and to this day used in most racing and restomod builds. Now, I visioned these much different than Ford did back then...lol. if it ain't cool...I'll make it cool...hahaaaa!

I'm 55, not far off. I agree, 69 FB is my fave. I also had a 67 Lemans, that I made cooler, cloned the front GTO but left the rear Lemans as I liked the tail lights better, there's video here on my page of it, just gotta scroll back a few pages..hahaaa. more of my builds on Facebook, trucks and cars.

@@phestur13Haters won't admit it but the Mustang II was a major sales success. Google it if any doubts. The rack & pinion steering, double A arm front suspension, and 8" rear provides a decent foundation to do a proper build with a stroker 302.
