Thank you, so many familiar faces from my childhood. However they never spoke of a Ballybrickner ability add to a story. In my family which was from the Glen if you made the story better you were a true Ballybricker. I crossed the hill every school day for many years going from Kings Tce. To the Mercy in thr 1960/70s.

My father. Paul Caulfield, was born in Ballybricken in 1905. He was, like his father, a pig dealer. At some time in the early 1930's, I think, economics drove him to England. We, as a family, returned to Waterford after WWII, but the economy wasn't strong and so we had to go back to England. My father would tell me stories of the Waterford of his childhood, all recounted in his lovely Waterford accent. I have many letters (at least 20) recounting his memories. It's my intention to pick out the historically interesting parts and, maybe, send them to "Waterford News & Star". I've enjoyed watching Mark Power's documentary. I recognize many names my father would mention. In fact, I remember meeting Danny Morgan and seeing the beautiful horses. In my childhood we'd often go to Tramore for summer holidays, and, if I was good, my father would take me into Waterford to meet my cousins. I've lived in San Francisco since 1962, but, thanks to my father's stories, feel strong ties to Waterford and Ballybricken. Nuala Caulfield

@@tomasofaolain3117 my father Mark Dalton arrived in Australia in November 1971 so it must of been in the (northern) summer of that year.... I remember him talking of the tennis court... Mary still live in Waterford although her family lived for years in Brisbane... All her children are Australian citizens and her youngest was born there... They missed the 'dirty old town' too much and returned home... I'm a builder and carpenter in Brisbane and am hopefully maintaining the reputation of the Daltons of being good tradesmen. I think I was trained well...

Hi, my grandmother is the same. I lived in St Carthage's Avenue, my mother and father being Letty and Jerry walsh. I knew your mother and father and stayed with your family in Ely in Cardiff when I first left Waterford. I now live in London and miss my grandmother still as I was very close to her. Lovely to see this clip Regards Marian
