Fun fun, it's Friday; gloomy, cold Friday-after-gobble gobble day afternoon. Chicago winter has finally set in. It's 29f the lightest, small snow flakes, softly swaying as in a dance, to fall to the dark ground, the grass is still somewhat green, but hard. This radio show is great to stay under the covers, eating ginger snaps, and drinking cold hot tea. ☕. M, Elgin, IL.

These stories are so compelling not because of the mysteries but simply because of interesting personality’s as described…. I’m positively intoxicated by the loathsome Wolf

I remember seeing The Passer-by when I was a really little kid like four or five years old something like that and I remember it giving me an existential crisis. Lots of nightmares I totally forgot about it until I just now listen to it. 😳

The Johnny Dollar radio show was up near the top in production quality. I really like the fact that they used actual orchestration for the music and got away from the standard Wurlitzer organ that the other shows used. One of the things that gives the show its adventure element is Johnny's recurring use of air transportation. Today, flying is routine and anyone can get a budget plane ticket to anywhere. But in the 1950s, air travel was a new thing and it was on the pricey side. Most people traveled long distance by train. So the fact that Johnny was going by plane highlighted his adventurous life. TV detective shows in the 1970s did something similar with car phones. Few people had phones in their cars. So when you saw a TV detective talking on his car phone, you knew he was a high roller doing important things and he was close to people with money.
