Hey man, I'm currently flying an 18m Dragonfly in Sardinia, both soaring and sled rides,do you think the jump from a stable 18 to a 13m rapidos would be too much? I'm a very careful person with the inputs and take my time before attempting things on a new glider.

@@alessiopanu8022 hey, hard to say without knowing the rest of your flying experience etc. There is a 15m Rapidos which I would say is more of evolutionary step from 18m firefly. Remember its not purely size difference but line plans/profile etc etc which change a given wings behavior and performance. What I would say is to contact your local dealer who maybe knows you and can give you a demo on 15/13m, if possible? When you get sub 20 ish m in flat area each 1 or 2m square makes more of a noticeable difference in handling and performance.

@LawrieNoctor thanks for the advice! I'll try to get a demo then, I started paragliding like 8 months ago and did it regularly since, mostly soaring due to our spots and my fear of heights lol I've flew the 18m for about two months but it's starting to feel slow. I'm not a big maneuver kind of guy, but I like to go reasonably fast, maybe I could use getting comfortable with spirals and more aggressive wing overs before jumping to a smaller wing 🙏🏼

Saw you and this wing over on Andre's channel and immediately sub'd here when I saw this! Really impressed to see you putting this beastie through its paces. Could I ask; would you actually recommend one of these for an advanced beginner who wants to do both a bit of PG and PPG on the same wing?

Good video Lawrie! I was walking not far away having ripped my shoulder muscle off, meaning I couldn't raise my arm. Hence the 7 day walking trip, and my non appearance at the comp...

Nice flight, Question, can you compare this "paramotor" wing in freeflight with another normal paraglider in free flight? Glide, lift, performance? Best regards. Wim

Nice video. How does it flies for soaring comparing to a normal paraglider or miniwing. Any idea? And any idea from what minimum windspeed you need and what the maximum windspeed could be at your weight? Thx man for your answers?

Great to hear you've started. I use the Naviter Oudie N (great bit of gear), i then have a tablet running the same software thats on the oudie. The tablet is then connected to a XC tracer Flarm. Good luck and enjoy your training.

Nice one Lawrie, I enjoyed that! I'd bombed the day before a few kms further than Sean I reckon! A couple of things, as you say the hills weren't the Brecon Beacons (but if you're going to shorten the name, it's "Beacons" not "Brecons"), and then later it was the Usk Reservoir, not the Cray Reservoir... I've just bought an Insta360 X3 so will be experimenting with it this season - gonna try a helmet mount first off though... Catch ya soon!

Nice video and voice over. Video never seems to give justice to how close everyone is while the gaggle is thermalling. Or maybe that’s just my nerves making me feel like we are even closer than we are as I’ve only started sprint league XC, only had maybe 3 opportunities of gaggle flying so far, I’m sure it gets easier with experience.

Definitely has to be a convergence line, fighting a cross wind and still getting that much of a final glide is amazing. I would have thought going with the wind would produce a longer final, however you must of been tracking convergence or somehow managed a boaty glide. Nice work buddy
