I knew Kevin Boland in late 80s and early 90s. I was a socialist republican but i personally liked him.

It's sad how dated this video is, and how the pipe band scene has collapsed in Northern Ireland. Sam's face was a picture when listening to the old guy playing

I remember first hearing the Finton Lalor Pipe Band as a teenager in around 1969 at Dunoon for the Cowal Championships. The band played a concert at the Dunoon Ferry and it was the first time that I heard a pipe band play a medley: the slow air was 'Oft, in the Stilly Night' followed by the tune played as a jig.

#Kennedy24 I'll bet your dad would be so proud to know you're following in his footsteps and keeping his legacy alive with your own good deeds. So hopeful and looking forward to having a president of integrity and decency that actually cares about the people he's supposed to serve rather than the corporations

@Dessydandoodle3 ай бұрын
Essentially it was over the troubles in northern ireland and a group which included kevin boland who you see at the end being carried out believed Taoisech Jack Lynch wasn't doing enough to help catholics being oppressed in ulster.

@@Dessydandoodle Were they correct?
@sleepeasy-asmr8071Ай бұрын
Boland and co wanted to stage a symbolic invasion of the north to raise awareness and assist the Catholic community. That could have triggered all out civil war in the north and beyond with dire consequences for the island.
@DessydandoodleАй бұрын
@@johnnotrealname8168 no I don't think so Boland was a radical who couldn't see the horrific potential consequences of his actions and was largely blinded by ideology

Sounds like SNARES are missing off the drums. Compared to drum sound a few years. EG listen to the Drum sound of 2004 drum sounds was better. I listen to recordings from 2002 it would hammer the life out of the drum sounds now. Only an opinion but should hopefully strike a note of validation. The way LEADING drummers maybe think these days they've been successful they dont need advice or feedback maybe it's time to think that public know something about it too
