This is his "G" version for network TV. And Tony didn't introduce this bit, that was Telma Hopkins and Joyce Vincent (Dawn).

Carlin is a blasphemous extreme left wing liberal Marxist prick . America the Beautiful is a sacred song that should not be made fun of . And newsflash , Carlin = Our American soldiers are our real heroes , they are not murderers , they are in Viet Nam to protect you and that weasel , chicken sh.t coward boxer Ali to have your freedom . When Joe Frazier kicked Ali's ass in that fight , it was one of the greatest moments in sports history ! Yes !!!!!

Every time I see yet another kid not watching traffic, studiously fiddling with his or her damn cell phone, I gotta wonder what George would think about contemporary life- Namaste World, Be Nice to Each Other Today

I love Hitchens’ takedowns of the bible, but there are more basic reasons why God doesn’t exist, such as: why did he create the dinosaurs then destroy them? Why did he only reveal himself in the Middle East, not in Australia or the America’s? Did he create man, or did he create monkeys that evolved into man? Very clearly, God is a human creation designed to facilitate a cohesive society and then used to make war in the race for power.

I know people are saying that Carlin was different when he was young, but remember, this guy was arrested FOUR YEAR BEFORE this, for the "7 words you can't say on television" bit. This is a TV show. Carlin is known, but he still has a job here. He's trying to make it on TV. There has to be some more light heartedness in his act. Once he started touring on his own, doing comedy, he could finally say everything he always wanted to, that TV wouldn't allow. Hence the bit he was arrested for.

You can tell this song is not quite primal enough for Grinderman. It’s the same time frame and musically it’s dirty but the lyric makes it a Bad Seeds song and not Grinderman. I’m seeing Nick Cave again next month for the first time in decades.

When he was younger, he had the vibe of an obnoxious D.A.R.E. representative or someone you would've thought wasn't going to be anything special because he was wearing a pandering persona that you could feel, which dulled his comedy a bit. Once he got older, he stopped giving a fuck, his real personality started coming out and it's when he became a god of comedy. It goes to show the advice, "just be yourself" can be true no matter what age you are. We like real people; we don't connect or relate to people with a "customer service" persona that most put on, we relate to others who have real emotions, struggles and are pissed off about the things we are; relatable people. And you can't be relatable unless you say things that are risky and vulnerable to say. That's why the younger generation (other gens as well, but mostly the younger) struggles so hard with people, they don't say risky things that'd make them relatable anymore, they pander to society out of fear of "cancel culture". It's why they've been posting George all over TikTok and he's gone viral for young people lately, they use videos, memes, and other people to express and say the things they're afraid to. But you can't be relatable or connect with others unless you take the risks.

Sometimes I forget that, for most of Carlin's career, he wasn't a 24/7 acerbic firebrand. This is actually really refreshing to watch.

Sounds fiscally conservative to me. I bet he'd have some problems with what's happening today, Ukraine, the border and what not.
@Hirnlego9995 ай бұрын
Fiscally conservative since at least Reagan has meant massive debt and being corporately owned. As for the border, he might point out that without migration the human race wouldn't even exist, and if the politicians were supposedly against it they'd better put effort at making sure people do not want to flee their own countries rather in the first place. A wall he could also point out, wouldn't work as most just come in with a visa and simply...stay.

@@Hirnlego999 there's immigration and there's non vetting door wide open come on in everybody. Nobody said immigrants weren't important we are all immigrants but the numbers need to be examined
@Hirnlego9995 ай бұрын
@@words911 It's never been a wide open door. But those who are for it are those with the companies, as they want cheap labor and they also want other wages to go do simultaneously. Republicans who have complained about this for decades have had power for decades and have never actually go all on it because they always want to run on a "problem" that is always there. For this reason they just voted down a bill which would have made changes to border policy, but since deranged Orange wants to run on it they voted it down. They're helping the guy who himself has had undocumented workers, the very same guy who already has said that he actually built the wall. He built it. He has actually said that. One can only have a career after all this in a country where rampant ignorance and anti-intellectualism is common.
@pyannaguy43615 ай бұрын
There used to be a Counter Culture. Now? You show how hate-riotic you are by either exalting or demonizing an ex-Prez. He gets more attention than the one in office 'cause he's basically all they've got: "Hey, at least we're not HIM!" We offer thoughts & prayers & are shocked & saddened by the gun violence in our streets, while sending billions to keep it going, high-level, around the world. "It's a small one, after all.."
The barrier to peace now though, is that Palestinians do want to evict (or kill, if they could) all the Jews there. Hitchens said that while he thought the country was founded on an injustice it didn’t make sense to just kick out all the Jewish people at this point. But there are no Palestinians who want anything less than the complete destruction of the state of Israel.
