Never saw a straight takeoff roll in one of these things if there was any crosswind at all. I always park behind where they operate.

I have almost 200 hours in powered parachutes, and, like they used to say of the Piper Cub, they can just barely kill you. Thinking you need only "a little training" is just asking for serious trouble. Glad no one was hurt, but taking these machines lightly is suicidal.

The cause appeared to be one of the guys held down the leading edge of the chute, this caused the stall on that side. This resulted in one side developing lift while the other side stalled and as you saw the outcome was not good. But Spaceman Spiff walked away to tell about it.

When was this? I was part of the group flying paramotors at Griswold between 2000-2010 and there were still a couple of old paraplanes in the hangar, but this is clearly much earlier.

Absolutely NOTE a fake, the crash victim is one of my closest friends and I followed the paraplane with my eye not the camera....I'll give you the name of every person in the video and they will confirm.

That's what my first flight was on exactly. Wonderful machine. In this video, the reason for the roll over was the chute was not inflated on one side. That is a PM2, which is the second generation, with improved power and chute compared to the first, PM1. Really enjoyed this. I put 57 hours on mine before moving to a single engine Buckeye. I now have a Paraplane 503, which is almost identical to the PM2 other than single engine and slightly longer frame. Woody
