Thank you for this comment. The complete Rim-to-Rim-to-Rim hike is about 45 miles (72 km) long, with a cumulative climb of nearly 12,000 feet (3.5 km). I completed this in a single day, but it was quite a challenge and involved trail running in many sections. Other common options include hiking from the South Rim to the North Rim, or vice versa, which requires arranging a ride back or having someone drive your car to the hike's ending point. Another alternative is hiking the Rim-to-River loop in the South Rim, which can also be completed within a single day.
