Can it be better refined so you can have a pint of gasoline giving the same mileage as a gallon of high-grade gasoline like 200 miles to the gallon

When you read these books do you read them from beginning to end? I personally do so because I don't like skipping but it takes a lot of time for me. I am OK with taking along time reading a book but but sometimes I am worried that my progress is slow. Just to give an example it took me 8 months to read the entire principles of chemical engineering processes book.

It is truly a skill of a good engineer, being able to skip directly into sections of a book. As you stated, sometimes you may need to go back to understand and read some content.

This was a nice demo. I had no idea that Apsen could model electrolysis now. Can the electrolysis model be used to model the transport of other cations across the membrane besides hydronium? For example the transport of metal ions across a cation exchange membrane. Also I assume you need to have the electrolyte package in Aspen to do this simulation is that correct?

That is a great question, I'll be adding it to the Q&A!

Thanks a lot for the demo session, it was super useful. I wanted to ask a few questions: 1. Can we specify each cell individually in teams electrode and diaphragm types? For example, I have a stack with 32 cells, each with a different electrode design and diaphragm. 2. During stack operation, can we estimate the diaphragm's lifetime, degradation, and the performance of the cathode and anode coatings? 3. Is it possible to estimate the bubble and void fraction for each cell? 4. Lastly, can I view, change, or modify the mathematical model? Looking forward to your next video!

Thank you! both David and Emmanuel for bringing us this detailed and very insightful demo session. Really informative! I am currently working on Pt-X process, for hydrogen production, I am using stack data for labscale stack, but to scale it up for industial use, I am trying to increase the cell area and number of cells, do I need to change any other parameters for the stack?

In the hydrogen economy, H2 not only produces power, but its basic inherent value would make it the ideal unit for currency exchange. The new money, get paid in liters of hydrogen credits. 500ml per hour might be a minimum wage.

Indeed! Similar to salt back in the days! Or gold!

Recently got accepted to do a Bachelors in Process Engineering, excited about it. Still wanted some ideas on potential jobs positions. I.E what other aspects of Process can I work in or is the job gonna mainly be just sitting and looking at monitors? Any advice would be appreciated.
@ChemicalEngineeringGuyАй бұрын
Well, process engineering at its core is all about process optimization, operaiton, design, etc... So yes, most of the time you'll be doing admin/office work, but many times, you'll go directly to the factory, equipment, process, etc... That really depends on your role, i.e. Junior Process Engineers will go more likely than a Senior Process Engineer. Truth be told, is that you may end up in other areas of process such as: maintenance, quality control, logistics, etc... So its hard to say!
