@@petereirich6502 yes, of course, they played at Hartford when it was World Jai-Alai then to Bridgeport and Milford. Maybe some Basque millionaire will build a fronton here in the USA and export the unbelievable group of talent playing in Spain frontons for 6 months a year. Did you know Buddy Berenson’s asked for 10 (ten) slot machines and stated he would be able to pay all the players, raises, and insurance with the take. The great State of Connecticut told him to “pound sand”.

Bolivar was good. Joey the greatest though. Beat Bolivar in head to head 35 point partido 3 games to zero. That the only stat you need to know.

Record recently broken or not it doesn't matter masconi always was and in my opinion always will be the best. This is not the greatest thing he done but Minnesota fats tried to hustle mposconi he decided to teach fats a lesson. The only time he ever gambled and what he always called billiards. He took every dime that Minnesota fats had and then had to loan him money so he could get back home. He considered it a victory of billiards over pool hustling. And something else that I know he never missed he simply got wore out and had to stop pocketing supposedly it went on for 9 hours.

There was an episode of the show with Churruca as well when I was a kid. My mom was a fan and friend of his and I remember her recording the show with an old reel to reel 1/4” tape. Put the built in microphone next to the speaker of the tv. No vhs, dvd, dvr, or on demand back I’m those days.

Willie mosconi is the goat
@jacobjones5269 Жыл бұрын
Lemme tell you a story about Willie and the GOAT, Ralph Greenleaf.. who was world champ for 27 years until his death in 1950.. Willie won 15 world titles, but none while Greenleaf was alive.. They were employed by Brunswick to tour and do exhibitions for about a decade, together.. And Willie rarely beat him in those exhibitions.. After one time that he did win, Greenleaf was a little salty and said the only reason Willie won was because Greenleaf was drunk.. To which Willie replie “you were drunk every time you beat me, too!”.. Lol.. Greenleaf will always be the man..

@@jacobjones5269At 14.1. None of them would gamble with Lassiter at any other game and he beat both of them numerous times at starlight pool but Don Willis was the only man known to have busted Wimpy playing 9 ball and that’s a fact. And they say his game wasn’t as good in the tournament format as it was when the money was on the light

I believe so Minnesota fats was no joke and Willie mosconi took every dime he had after telling fats no over and over. He had to loan fats some of his own money to even get back home. Efren is the modern-day goat in my opinion and it is only my opinion mosconi is the all-time goat his record of sinking 526 consecutive balls stood for 65 years and most people don't know that he never missed he quit due to exhaustion.

Yes better than efrin. Any pro player can play 9 ball and 10 ball but straight pool is the most challenging pool game and Willie was the master and with lesser equipment.

I miss you guys. Your all still my hero’s! Once I tried to play amateur jai-Alai in Milford Connecticut. Immediately I knew what great, amazing athletes you all are. Now no jai-Alai because slot machines don’t ask for raises or need medical insurance. Memories of the one and only Bolivar, Asis Iii, Uriate, Remen and my favorite Gurney. Nothing but respect for all of you. Hope you and all your families are well. Please try to get Jai-alai into the Olympics.
