The female bowler threw it straight out of the box, the lack of lane shine is what caused the early hook, no? It looks like each shot after hooks later and later and then levels out and looks great

I have had 4 Purple Hammers, two Ebonite and two Brunswick and now I have a 78D Black Pearl. I hate to say it, but the Black Pearl may actually be better than the Purple.

3 totally different dual angle layouts of 3 strong asymmetrical pieces, some KZbinrs are notorious for not drilling balls the same for far comparisons.

Everybody loves the Blackout- im getting it. The first bowler is great, the second one very good. goes around his body a bit and loses speed from time to time.
@EviLNox823 күн бұрын
You think it would be good for a low speed, high rev bowler?
@VirtueBowlingSupply21 күн бұрын
If there is enough oil on the lane, but generally this ball isn’t designed for extremely rev dominant players.

Glad to see more 2 handed reviews coming out. Not a fan of 2LS for storm stuff?
@VirtueBowlingSupplyАй бұрын
Our staff will typically use 2LS when laying out for two handers, we just use dual angle layouts to keep things consistent in the video as it is the most widely understood layout system. It’s important to remember though that every dual angle layout is also a 2LS layout and vice versa, as they are just different ways of measuring core position. Basically 2 different languages. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching!

Another idea for a new series, use different level of bowling balls released at the same time by same manufacturers to recognize which spot of the Bowling bag it goes into and how it would relate with a bowlers preference
@keithylvisaker7283Ай бұрын
I plan to get the s2 because I need something in my bag that hooks more up front without using urethane

Dang I'd be curious to see the 2H (I just noticed ya'll didn't introduce yourselves to us new viewers!) with some surface adjustment to make it a bit smoother. The Anger's numbers are very interesting to me as someone (2H) who wants a more dynamic sym piece that can attack the inside of the lane, but tend to find shiny balls to be overly reactive once they find the dry.

Why wouldn’t you put fresh oil out there? Please delete this video and make another with fresh oil.
@VirtueBowlingSupplyАй бұрын
Yeah, we don’t have that luxury unfortunately. This center does have much more oil then most house shots, but we understand the desire for more ideal conditions but this is our only option with other scheduling restrictions and necessary aspects needed to create the content. This is why we try to compare to other balls, so you can compare to other balls of similar nature. Our goal isn’t to make balls look good, it’s to provide an honest and incentive review. We hope our other videos will be more to your liking and we appreciate your feedback! We will keep trying to improve!
@terryroberts6777Ай бұрын
Might want to oil the lanes before you do a review. Balls look like crap.
@VirtueBowlingSupplyАй бұрын
We wish that was an option, but this is when we are allowed to film, so we do the best we can. This ball is meant for dryer conditions. Our reviews in general have less striking because all shots thrown are shown. We aren’t trying to make every ball look good. We are trying to provide an honest review.

Very low on specifics. What kind of shot is he bowling on? Is it 3-1 or 10-1 or something in between? The strikes are almost definitely the product of the fact that there is practically no oil on the outside of the lane. Before urethane was introduced in 1980 it was illegal to have more oil in the track than the outside part of the lane. Ray Orf had an 890 series disqualified for that reason. A couple of years later Glenn Allison had a 900 dq’d for the same thing. Nowadays the skill level required is much lower. This is proven by the fact that there are only a fraction of sanctioned bowlers in the US compared to the late 1960s when bowling was easily the most popular recreational sport but records are falling all the time. Even 3-1, which is considered a difficult shot nowadays, was illegal back then when bowlers were using rubber and plastic balls. Much fewer bowlers but a plethora of 900 series shows that lane conditions have degraded the skill level required to throw ridiculously high scores. I know that the game has changed a lot since the introduction of urethane and resin bowling balls, but don’t kid yourself. The precision and skill required to bowl honor scores is a lot less than it was in the heyday of bowling. If you had to bowl on a 1-1 pattern, which was the only thing allowed when greats like Dick Weber and Nelson Burton Jr. were in their prime, fully half of the shots that struck would have been gutter balls, so don’t go thinking that you’re great. If you had to bowl on the lane conditions that prevailed in the 1960s and 1970s you would have been lost. A guy like Earl Anthony could have drilled three holes in a cinder block and kicked your ass.
@theb2694Ай бұрын
Whatever makes you feel good, my man.
@lumberlikwidator8863Ай бұрын
@@theb2694 it doesn’t make me feel good that hacks are throwing 900s all over the place these days. It doesn’t make me feel good that for a right handed bowler anything that touches the right side of the headpin is likely to strike. Over the years I bowled with hard rubber, plastic, urethane, resin and particle balls and nowadays there are bowlers averaging 235 that couldn’t do 185 on a 1-1 pattern. A few years ago the lane machine broke down where I bowl and they had to oil the lanes with a spray gun and level it out with a mop. That night a bunch of 225 average bowlers with 18 mph and 500 rpm were throwing washouts and gutter balls all night long. Two of the local heroes couldn’t break 440 that night because they had no bump to depend on when they missed right. And they were all crying about it because they didn’t have an area the size of a ceiling tile at the arrows. I shot 555 that night because I can hit what I’m looking at. I know what I’m talking about because I’ve watched bowling turn into a shitshow over the last sixty years, going from the top participation sport to a joke. There used to be more than fifteen bowling centers in and around my town and now there are only two left and they’re both struggling to stay afloat. When I was a kid pins were made of solid maple with no high velocity plastic coating, and they were an absolute bitch to knock down. They used to paint them when they got beat up and the paint used to come off on your ball. So listen, punk, don’t try to get smart with me and tell me about bowling unless you’ve been around longer and have more experience than I do. Good day!
