Thanks for opening up James. I know it’s not easy. I just think that a lot of us that are born, have to get used to intimacy coming in and out of our life.

I don’t do the dating apps as well. I have single male friends. They are not scoring. Maybe we all need to chill out from Dating. I have a great life. If there is a woman that wants to ride along with me. Awesome. I can’t do hook ups or paying for it.

For me. I don’t feel lonely. I don’t have sex with women as a heterosexual man, because there is no promising woman around me to have that relationship with. Simple as that. I can’t force it into my life. The last time I had sex was 2020. I feel restless that I don’t have it. It does not seem natural to me. I kind of wish life was like this. You have a romantic partner. You have sex. You don’t have a romantic partner. You don’t think or desire it. The way today’s culture is. From 20 to 90. Good luck being in one relationship for the rest of your life and that is the only person you can have sex with. Its almost like our creator wants us with many people before we croak.

Wayne and Thaao on Days really brought me into Days. I remember Roman and to this day. He is one of my all time fave heroes on Days.

She should be recast, at least temporarily. If Leslie can come back later, she should have first dibs to the role at that point, but in the meantime (or going forward if Leslie never wants to come back), we need Monica. It’s crazy that she’s supposedly in the house but we never see her. This drew/Jason storyline NEEDS her, plus all these great grandkids of hers need her too (even if Rocco isn’t one of them biologically). To me, if Edward Quartermaine, the patriarch of the Quartermaine’s, can be successfully recast, so can Monica. It’s when an actor has played the role the whole time and then dies in real life that makes it feel iffy…but Leslie is alive. I wouldn’t want a new Bobbie after the actress passed, but this is very different. And Bobbie was wonderful still being on the show, but the show is fine with her passing on. Monica is the matriarch of the show. She just is, and the show is suffering without her and it’s making the storylines make less sense.

I'm for the "no" recast for legacy characters. Maybe it's because it's hard to deal worth change, and I'm aware that there are many fabulous actors that can do amazing, but I just can't see "some" legacy characters be reevaluate... some can but I can never see anyone do Erica Kane or Luke Spencer or a Victor Kiriakis (RIP)... now I am a fan with open arms to let a recast of a character for the part for the scenes/ story lines, hence Stacy Hyduk (sry for wrong spelling if her last name) taking over the role of Kristen Dimera is SLAYING the part... but she is just one of the few I applaud. But I'm a no for recast with certain "legacy" characters being recast no matter how much I want to see the character...lol I guess I'm the all our nothing type of fan😜

Lesile is like the actors who played iconic roles like Bobby Spener, Stefano DiMera, Stephanie Forrester, john black, victor Kiriakis. they were not replaced but in the their case the actors pass away in real life. The new generation of gh legacy characters are taking over. it would be nice for jason morgan to get some of Jason Q memory before Monica is gone. I think Tracey can fill those shoes in Monica absence

Monica can be recast. Characters like Erika Kane, Laura Spencer, Kay Chancellor and Stephanie Forrester cannot be recast. This new Taylor Hayes doesn’t work for me. Monica I could take her or leave her.

Patty McCormick was Monica for a few months in 2018 when LC broke her leg. Holly Kaplan played Monica for one day in March 2022 in scenes with Finn & Jake

There are so few Quartermaine's left we need Monica. With her house so full we need to see her around her grandchildren and great grandchildren. I get Leslie is not well, the show should've reached out to see if her return is feasible, if not then a recast is necessary for all that is going on. Monica at conferences or sick for all major events just isn't cutting it.

Great topic, James. Fans forget but some of the greatest roles in daytime were recasts. Brenda Dickson originated the role of Jill on Y&R, Gillian Spencer was OLTL’s original Vikki Lord, and Robin Strasser was AW’s first bad girl, Rachel-just to name a few. Heck, Leslie Charleson was not the original Monica. To your point, recasting a role enhances the story. Otherwise, the character, and sometimes the story, remains in limbo or feels shortchanged.
