We are fishing pegs 2/3 all next week as the disabled peg is already booked. Are these swims ok and any advice?

Fish it like Dave and not like me 🤣. Dave's always followed his instincts on Oxlease, going little and often with the baiting, keeping hookbaits and free offerings small (and he's done well). I'm told that they can be caught at the bottom of the drop-off at 1 rod length out. Dave fished around 18 wraps in peg 4 but you know how it goes: find a spot you're comfortable with; be consistent; and don't neglect the sweetcorn. I hope this helps. 😁

Peg 13, I think but you'll be able to work that out from the video. I was fishing 12.5 wraps, which was a channel between weed beds and I think the weed was the reason the fish were there. 👍

Listening to the bailiff, he will tell you exactly where to put your hookbaits. Using simple rigs, supple hooklinks (not too short) but again, the bailiff will advise. Using a baitboat is a massive help and I wouldn't want to fish on there without one (I think they hire them out). The bait sold on site is recommended. The biggest advantages will be listening to the bailiff before and during your stay and using a baitboat. 👍

Great video. Some decent angling skills on show. Loving the Dave Cam segment lol. Isla is a very competent angler and has obviously had a good teacher in her dad. This vid is a great example of the rewards of patience when fishing weedy/snaggy venues rather than just trying to haul the fish out of the snags. As far as pushing the barrow around maybe it's time to consider a motorised one lol. Keep safe and well everyone and looking forward to the next one already!!

Good point and I'm not really one for wearing waders but there was quite a drop to the water so it made sense to get down there to release the fish, especially the bigger ones. 👍

Hi Karl and sorry for the delay. I just gave Pete a call. He loves his T1 and said it's versatile, he loves the design and it's solid. He said it's fairly heavy and bulky in the bag so reckons it would be more suited to someone taking a static approach and setting up home for longer sessions. That's Pete's opinion. Hope this helps!

Thanks mate, I really enjoyed making the vlog and had a proper laugh. I was in a couple of bands short-term, many years ago. I also fronted a very good (even if I do say so myself) covers rock band from 2011 to 2013. I'm more known for my voice but also play guitar. You're right, a Les Paul. 😁👍
