Hiii sir , can you tell me which tool do you use to exaggerate feature
@LearnAboutGIS Жыл бұрын
Hi Sidapta, I don't think there is a tool for this in general. The example used on this web site: wiki.gis.com/wiki/index.php/Cartographic_generalization#Exaggerate is vertical exaggeration of terrain.

how does collapse works? and on which GIS Platform i can find the tool to perform collapse ( converting Polygon to point )
@LearnAboutGIS Жыл бұрын
Swarnima, in the example in the video a polygon is replaced with a point. To do this automatically, you could use the centroid of the polygon(s) as an approach.

@@indianengineer5802 those figures (4:12 and 4:13) actually came from Introduction to Remote Sensing (5th ed) by Campbell and Wynne. Chapter 4 - Digital Imagery. Sorry about the confusion.

BTW, flat earther's love the Gleason map because they think it shows that the earth is flat but do not seem to realize that the scale only works to measure the distance from any point on the map to the center along the radial axis, which would be latitude if if either the North or South Poles were selected to be the map centers. I didn't realize that was the case either until watching this video and was thinking this projection more like a Mercator where the scale varies with the latitude so I am glad to have found this video that explains how the scale does in fact work with this kind of projection.
@lowercase18 Жыл бұрын
This video nicely explains how you can use the azimuthal polar equidistant projection to get accurate distances, simply change your focus from the north pole, and follow the same process from your specific point to whichever other point. Change of focus is all that's needed.
