I miss LENA

Iam 6 months pregnant last month in scan I came to know my little baby in my womb have cdh.....please bless me and my baby .....hope for the best.....

I have a baby that went through all this and makes me so scared when we found out that the baby had a CDH. He is 5 months now and so strong and fighter baby. Thank you to all the Doctors and nurses of Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh for doing everything for our baby. God is so amazing...

We have an identical family! Two daughters, a son, a daughter who passed away, and number 5 was our cdh warrior...since then another son and a baby due in the spring. Kudos to our pediatric surgeon in Boise Idaho, Dr Curnow. This was so similar to our story!

17 years ago my daughter who was pregnant was told her baby would not survive and needed to be aborted. The baby was diagnosed with CDH. My daughter refused and put everything in God's hands. What was at that time an experimental surgery, was performed on the baby while inside my daughter. During pregnancy as the baby grew inside of her, the nurses gave her 3D pictures from ultrasounds convinced the pictures would be the only thing my daughter would have as memories. I could write pages, maybe books on the many challenges, close calls, surgeries, and prayers, as well as joys in the last 17 years. For now I will say my beautiful granddaughter will be turning 17 in the next month. PRAISE GOD! We are so thankful of the AWESOME doctors and nurses who have helped through these challenging years. If you spoke with my granddaughter you would encounter a sweet girl, never complaining, and being a normal teenager looking forward to college. I say normal, but the physical reality is she still has challenges, she developed scoliosis and has two rods in her back. Last year at 15 she had reconstructive stomach surgery that was very intense because of her condition and gastro issues which I won't go into detail. I'm encouraged by Ian's testimony as well as those I've seen on other sites. Dr Kays at Johns Hopkins Childrens Hospital in St Pete has been a God Send. We will be praying for all CDH children and adults and the many families touched by this. We covet your prayers as well for my Granddaughter Rebecca. She was my first Grandchild. My daughter has since had 2 more girls and a grandson(cool) and I have another granddaughter through my son. But I would be lying if I did not say Rebecca is the 'apple of my eye'. And Lord willing I will be around to see her graduate from High School, college, and whatever else God has for her in the future.

My heart breaks for what these babies go through to live and for the ones who aren't given a chance. I'm devastated for the parents and families of babies born with CDH and all birth defects. I thank God for medical professionals and volunteers who are so very brave in caring for babies and children in need. May God bless all of you.
