Auroras albums are always growers to me. Some songs i love immediately, some songs I need to listen to multiple times to appreciate them, and some songs I need to see a live performance to enjoy! I'm so glad you liked "Dreams", that's maybe my favorite on the album!

Nice to see you again. I have to admit that I also skipped a couple of songs on the first listen. (I have yet to listen through "The Essence"). But then some of them really grew on me. As a songwriter, Aurora is (in many ways) very similar to her hero Leonard Cohen. Sometimes some songs can seem a little too unpronounceable and trite at first. But then you get into the lyrics, and they completely mesmerize you. I've also noticed that it varies greatly which songs reviewers think should be left out . Ane Brun is vocally everywhere in the choruses of "My Name"😊. Personally, I think "Invisible Wounds" is her best outro song ever. It's so admirably and heartbreaking when an artist (who means as much as she does) is vulnerable, and admit she is broken and confused. Suddenly she becomes one of us, and we can cry with her.

Good to see you Mr Musik Man even better with Sweet Aurora's latrest release a true masterpiece in my humbled belief

I love all of her albums, but as a whole project, I prefer this album to her last album. This album feels very personal, lyrically, and it's so experimental. And while it's experimental, she hasn't lost herself. She still gives us songs like Echo of My Shadow, The Essense, and Dreams, but she also gives us completely new sounds we haven't heard from her.

Everything is impressive. But Im most impressed that she worked with a Fairlight CMI

After hiring your opinions I think second part is just closer to your music taste (plus maybe you used to some sounds?). The second part of the album grew in my but some of song you did not liked I liked from the very start:). And I think I less liked The Body is Not mine from the whole album :). I also noticed that after second and third listen some songs clicked in my even more (the ending is probably added because of the meaning :) ).

Thanks Danny. Its nice to hear a reaction from you again. If you continue I want to suggest you to have a look at Sasha( Sascha) Kasputin and Diana Ankudinova doing an improvisision on Feeling good, which is quiet exceptional. But best you see for youself.. Best wishes Jörg

Hard to say for me if it is better then last ones. I love her every album. For sure I can say it is for me so different then last albums (the same I would say about last album) and that even if she changes she always (so far) make great music. It was also somewhat a grower for me (maybe because I feel this album is a little outside my typical music sweet spot styles, at last in some songs). My top 6 favorites at this moment: 1) Dark Dresses Lightly 2) Dreams 3) Soul with No King (all versions: Remix, album one and great live version. 4) Conflict of the Mind (which you skipped :) ) 5) Starvation (maybe will go higher who knows) 6) Earthly Delights Ps. I know I dont always (or even often :) ) agree with you but it is nice to see your personal opinions :). Music is subjective after all.
