The camera on the ZX6R gives an interesting view of things, although it distorts the image quite a bit. I prefer the view given from your camera on the Street Triple, but that clutch cable really gets in the way of seeing what's going on with the display. I'm glad they re-routed the cable on the latest model. Have you ever considered installing a steering damper on either of your Street Triples? The front end likes to lift a lot on my 2024, even with the full traction control setting, and I have to focus on positioning the bars as it touches down to avoid shimmy. I'm hoping that as I get more used to the bike, I'll get better at making straighter touch downs so I can avoid having to buy an expensive accessory that clutters up the looks.
@DarkRiderMotovlogs2 күн бұрын
ya the 360 camera is quite cool but yes does distort quite a bit. I havent considered a steering damper, I dont really feel like it needs one. I wheelie quite a lot so Im used to the front lifting and the occasional shimmy so it doesnt really bother me that much. The track surface is quite bad at the moment and there are alot of bumps on crests and into the braking zones that upset the bike quite a bit and give unwanted shakes but I'm airly used to it now. I wouldnt really worry too much about a damper, not many people have fit them to the street triples. The Daytonas get quite bad headhake though.

You looked amazing and fast on both bikes. Nice clean lines. Im interested to know the lap time difference between both. And also whats your overall opinion on racing both bikes on the track. Nice that you could race both on the same day. So at least you can compare the two.
@DarkRiderMotovlogs3 күн бұрын
Thanks man! I must still check the lap times between the two but they are probably the same-ish. The ZX6 is definitely better on track. Less fatigue and cornering is much faster and easier. The Street Triple is definitely superior on the road though.

@@rawcircoking Depends how confident you are and skilled you are as a rider but I'd say ride the Trident for atleast 1 year before thinking of the 765RS. The 765RS is quite a lot of bike and benefits from being a slightly more advanced rider. But if you are somewhat experinced already you could ride the Trident for say 6 months then upgrade to a 765RS.

Sign up for a motorcycle track racing school. Real pros will lead you around a track, even if you don't have a motorcycle license. You just have to know, roughly, how to operate a motorcycle. I went from a grom in a parking lot for my beginner's permit, to a track-prepped bike with full leathers and helmet. They also record you and play back the footage to give their advice on how to improve. I felt like such a superhero while riding, but I looked like such a newbie in the footage 😂

Felt like I was watching rally with the "medium left, soft right etc"🤣 it's also important to KNOW the road before any spirited riding. It's good to see some varying scenery for those of us who are not familiar with your area. Have you ever tried that Du Toitskloof Pass road that I see on Google Earth is labeled as R101? On GE street view it looks a bit narrower and perhaps the pavement is not as fresh as the Franschhoek Pass road that you have filmed before. That might limit speeds on a bike like the Street Triple, but from what I can see the route looks interesting.
@DarkRiderMotovlogs28 күн бұрын
@@rtg1018 True! Good point. Du Toits kloof pass used to be a very fun road, narrow but with nice bends. But over the years the big heavy trucks have used the road to avoid going through the tunnel below and paying the toll. So the tarmac has become very bumpy and rippled from their weight. It's fairly dangerous at moderate speed so it's more of a scenic route now with a nice rest stop at the top.

Big group rides always have their up's and down's. How's the ST, are you still pleased with your purchase or wish you stuck with the Duke/newer ST?
@DarkRiderMotovlogs29 күн бұрын
Haha yeah, I usually dont do rides this large so kind of didnt pay attention haha! Yes loving my bike still, I recently flashed an updated Arrow mapping to the ECU and really helped a lot, the bike seems to pull harder now as well as smoothing out the lower rpm range where the throttle could be quite snatchy. Overall running great! I've yet to test a 2024 STRS but i wouldnt say my 2018 is any worse than the 2020 I had, they feeel fairly similar, but from the other Triumph riders in my group, the 2024 is quite a step up from the previous models.

@@Seven6fivers hi! By 13-15 do you mean mpg? I don't use mpg but km/l and I usually get around 20km/l or so. It's not super thirsty but it's also not a gas guzzler. But if you ride fast it can be quite heavy on fuel. Hope that helps!

Glad to see the suspension mod is working out. The weather looks very nice on the day of your ride. I'm curious about the temperatures you have there during your winter. What kind of temperature range do you get there? We're in the midst of our rainy season in Thailand where the southwest monsoon prevails from May through November. I have to dodge rain showers, which limits my riding of the Street Triple. I still use my daily rider though, rain or shine. The temps are quite warm, ranging from the high 20s to mid 30s Celsius, it's just intermittently wet. Our best weather is actually during the winter months from December through February. In this part of the country, the temps cool down to the low to high 20s Celsius and there is usually no rain. Summer is from March to early May, and it gets roasting hot here. Typical temps in my area are from the mid to upper 30s, which is actually a bit cooler than other parts of the country due to close proximity to the sea.
@DarkRiderMotovlogsАй бұрын
That day it was around 6 degrees celcius in the early morning then warmed up to around 17 degrees. Usually its between 6 to 12 degrees for the Winter. Wow ok your climate sounds a lot more intense than ours! but the winter actually sounds quite nice! The rain must be pretty crazy though!
