Hi. The ticket is valid anytime for 24 hrs so you can take the train or bus going back anytime you want. HOWEVER, you need to check the ferry return time if you plan to take the ferry just like what i did. If i remember it right, i took the last ferry trip back to the train station around 4 pm. I came back to Salzburg around 6 pm.
