What a massive disappointment to hear the "National Teacher of the Year" speak at the White House, saying things such as, "EXspecially," and grammatically incorrect constructions such as, "As an English-as-a-second-language teacher, my students...." Jesus. She has taught for 30 years, and has presumably spoken English for more. How embarrassing.

Isn't this the backward rural school district where two employees, a teacher and Assistant principal, were arrested for beating a boy at the elementary school using a wooden board to assault him? Is this how they achieve their rating- through VIOLENCE? Most of America has moved past this abuse where battery against anyone regardless of age is illegal and would not believe what goes on here, or that places like this even still exist at all 😢 in our nation. Stop the violence in our public schools and learn to educate without it.

The Jackson County school district Tennessee is GUILTY of violence of human beings that attend their public schools. The recent media attention of the arrests of a teacher and an Assistant Principal for beating a little boy in Dodson Elementary school with a wooden weapon is deserved, and sheds light on and is just a smatll part of what unbelievably still goes on here in this school district on a regular basis. Why can't these people move past this in 2023 when 90% of America has ended the demeaning, degrading, sadistic sexual abuse of corporal punishment violence in public schools? The two school employees will ultimately get away with their mistreatment but would be jailed in most of the nation for doing this. How many more victims will it take before this assault and or battery of school students ends?

Jarred Amato, thank you!!! I have really made building relationships with the students so important in my 31 years of teaching. I teach in several schools every week and I have really struggled building relationships with my students at one of my schools. Your video sure helps. I really believe in those kids, but I allowed their disruptive behavior to get to me personally. I must always remember that it is never about me. Always about the students. Going to work harder this summer to improve. Thank you!

The point of homeschooling your children is to exclude the government from their oversight and meddling. This is inappropriate overreach. Parents do not need approval from the state for enacting their God given rights and responsibilities when choosing how to rear and educate their own children.
