My goodness that's an ugly install. No way do I want to look at those wires coming through a hole in my ceiling. A redesign is definitely needed. The comm wires should plug into the back side of the router and then be mounted to a receiving plate, hence hiding the wires and giving the end users a clean install.

That thing is trash. Do not buy. I will leave my fifth wheel sitting for weeks and every time I get back in there the radio turned on at some point and it’ll just be running for days. We are looking for a replacement for our 2022 vortex 3817v

I had this antenna in black and it worked very well until it blew off the roof last week on the way to Maine. The base is still there in perfect condition but the top is gone, coax fitting is pulled out and the FM antenna obviously unplugged. I bought a new one on Amazon yesterday but it looks like it has a threaded insert in it to hold it from ever blowing off (obvious speculation on my part). My question is, I've searched the internet high and low on how to pull the ceiling panel to no avail because according to your directions, this is bolted to the roof. Can I lag this to the plywood with Walldogs and be safe if I can't get the ceiling panel off? Right now I have no TV or FM reception and need to do something. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

None of the trailer manufacturers (that I know of) bolt and nut the antenna to the roof. They simply screw the base down from the top. I would suggest for you to scrape off the sealant (Dicor) around the antenna base with with a PLASTIC scraper and remove the screws that are holding the antenna base to the roof. I think you will find that the screws will come out easily. When you secure the new antenna base, you can re-use the original screw holes but I would suggest to rotate the base so that you will screw into fresh material. Dont forget to apply new Dicor sealant (Do not use Silicone) around the base and over the screws. Another suggestion is to wrap good quality electrical tape around the RF and AM/FM antenna connectors. When you install the antenna head to the threaded mount, you will be rotating the antenna head in a circle which will twist the cables slightly. Also, do not make more than (2) rotations of the antenna head onto the threaded mount. Use the locking nut to secure the antenna in place.

So do I still need a internet provider ? If so, how do I connect this router to the provider ?
@markjones67524 жыл бұрын
This system is Wi-Fi connection only. You must have a Wi-Fi host to connect to to get internet service. There are no monthly fees.

Mark: how do you remove the top of the antenna to check the wire connections? I am not getting very clear digital channels and my concern is it was not properly installed at the factory?

Did you figure out how to remove it? I just purchased a brand new travel trailer on Thursday and I'm not getting any channels at all. I suspect mine isn't installed correctly either.

Check the wall outlet. Mine didn’t work until I found the cables were installed backwards on the plate.
