Good video. That descaler can be a little burny on your skin, so latex gloves might be a good call

This is a very good point. Latex gloves will help protect against the burn of descaler.

Question , couldnt you zip tie around1 of the 4 plates where it is separating and plug the water spray to JUST that area where the zip tie is ? Wouldnt zip tying it bring plates back closer to the lines so they could freeze and thaw normally ? To me this would be a cheap easier fix if the plate was seperated in just one spot ?
@IceMachine4113 күн бұрын
You make a really good point. If the machine makes ice and is safe then I guess any fix is a good fix. The way I currently repair ice machines is based off of the manufacturers recommendations.

I have the same HPCO delay。I even bypassed the HPCO by directly connecting the high pressure switches, but it still showed the HPCO warning even the pressure was normal. So I bought a new board, after new board installation, it wouldn’t run although no HPCO warning. Water just keeps circulating, but compressor wouldn’t kick on. Do you have any idea what’s wrong with it? Thank you
@calvinthompson539815 күн бұрын
That’s allot of issues. Is it air cooled? Fan must have been running if your pressures were normal. Must have been running to have normal pressures at some point I’d check power voltage to contactor and then all your start components.

I bought a brand new Manitowoc IYT0450A Ice Cube Machine in June, and I just noticed today that the fan turns on and off about every 10 seconds. We only scoop ice on the weekends, so it doesn't run much during the week. Before I call for a warranty work, should I try to restart it?
@IceMachine41117 күн бұрын
Restarting it probably won’t fix anything. Be aware that some companies are NOT authorized to do warranty repairs on Manitowoc ice machines. Better to call Manitowoc tech support and get authorization from them to have a repair company come out to repair your machine. This will also help eliminate the possibility that you end up getting a repair bill.

I have a question I'm the property manager at the quality Inn in Portsmouth Ohio. Are ice machine is showing an orange light it blinks very slowly once at a time. It's making ice but when I push the button for the ice to fall nothing happens I can hear a motor try to start but nothing happens the ice collects in a trap and you have to release it to get it but the ice is falling but not by any kind of manual button being pushed its falling because it falls but I know it's making ice

Call Manufacturer Support or an ice machine professional. I am NOT responsible for crap and this is NOT professional advice. First, make sure the Dump Valve is actually closed. Maybe the water is entering the unit but is draining right away. Make sure the dump valve is clean and closed. Check for any errors and note them. Clear codes and unplug the unit for 10-15 minutes and restore power. If it fails to fill the troth with water during prechill: Navigate to Menu/Service/Diagnostics/Inputs. -In this menu, does the Water level High Read Sensing? -If NO High Read Sensing: - - Check voltage at the water inlet valve during prechill. If WIV is getting power but not working then replace it. Then, follow the wire to the PCB and check voltage there (across wires #20 and #56 on the 9 pin connector during prechill). - - If no voltage, replace the PCB. - - If it has voltage, is water supplied to the unit 20-80psi (Check The Pressure and DONT skip it or assume its okay (Check the pressure after the water filter)). If water pressure is good, replace the valve. If the water pressure is bad, replace water filter or fix the water supply. -If YES High Read Sensing: - - Is the Water Level Probe clean and in place? If not then clean it and make sure its in place. See if issue is resolved before proceeding. - - If NOT resolved, Disconnect the WLP from the PCB and recheck Water Level High Read Sensing. - - - YES its sensing, Replace the PCB. - - - NO its not sensing, Check OHMs between all 3 connections on the WLP Circuit. Does the WLP read resistance? - - - - Yes resistance: Replace the WLP. - - - - If No resistance, and you had to do everything above, the water troth should be filling at this point. If not, call a professional ice machine mechanic or Tech Support.

Orange blinking during freeze(steady blue) means that is time to clean your machine. Running the machine through a full clean cycle will make the orange light stop blinking.

Again thanks for the video, I think this same thing happened with our 4th floor machine. Shortly after you helped me fixed my 3rd floor, the 4th floor one threw this code lol. The fan isn’t as stiff as yours was, but it’s definitely not spinning. The unit I have is a little different soooo I’m not sure exactly how I go about testing it to make sure it’s getting power or not. I don’t wanna have them buy the new motor and it not be that part lol
@IceMachine411Ай бұрын
More than likely the fan motor gets power from the contactor. So if the compressor is running the condenser motor should eventually turn on. The tricky part is that the fan motors power passes through a fan cycle switch. It’s possible that the fan cycle switch isn’t working properly. Easiest way to know is to bypass it.
@RockyStar02Ай бұрын
You’re awesome sir, without your videos and your replies I wouldn’t have figured any of these problems out. Soo combining those two wires on the fan cycle switch is how you bypass it? My fan motor only has two wires, one that goes to that switch and another that looks like it goes to the board. Do I just gotta combine those the two on the switch onto the one on the side it’s not normally connected to? If that makes sense. When I plugged it in today, it didn’t give that error, but it went from pre chill straight to harvest, then gave a long harvest error after awhile, but that fan never kicked on. So that also confused me a bit.. you’ve done a lot to help me I wish there was something I can do in return lol. I might go and like all your videos.
@IceMachine411Ай бұрын
You have the basic idea. If your fan gets power directly from the board you may have a different model than what I’m thinking. What’s the model number of your machine? Also if you really want to return the favor please consider supporting the channel on Patreon. Thanks in advance.
@RockyStar02Ай бұрын
@ okay cool cool thank you so much! uhhh I’m not at work now and don’t remember it off the top of my head. I can get back to you tomorrow when I can check! Is the channel name the same for Patreon? I could probably join depending on how much the memberships cost. I’m not the head maintenance dude there, just a helper, but when they build the hotel next door I’ll get a promotion lol.
@RockyStar02Ай бұрын
@ Hello sir, thanks again for the replies and help with everything. The model is ID0302A-161. It was throwing the HPCO active code, then after I left it unplugged and then plugged it back in, it started to go from wtr purge for a few seconds, to prechill for a few seconds, then goes to harvest and sits on harvest for a little while, and then goes to remove ice after a little bit. No water comes out either. After a couple times of that it is now throwing the “long harvest” code. So idk if that is still related to that fan or not. The fan definitely isn’t running and is a bit stiff, not as stiff as this one in the video. I’m checking out what I think your Patreon is, but I just wanna verify it’s the right one before I join it lol.

How do you prevent this from happening? I have this exact same machine and this one seems to require a lot more maintenance because it gets dirty fast. Compared to an older ice machine I had that was hardly ever getting dirty as the new one I have. I also have a filter connected to it to try and help it but nothing. I’m looking to get a Hoshizaki HS-5283 to see if it helps or some type of UV lighting. It’s a bar and Hoshasaki is saying it’s the yeast coming from the drain lines connected to the draft beer. Any info would be appreciated. Thank you
@IceMachine411Ай бұрын
Some places are worse than others. Yeast from the beer is a factor. If possible try to move the machine to a different location? Regular cleaning. UV light is helpful.
