i can let alot of things slide. Im a cheap date and an easy customer. I could not get around the cheesy writing and VO. KH1+2 had pretty dark themes mixed with nice uplifting sentiments. KH3 to me had so much cheese in it. Like it went from PG-13 to G. The way the lines were written plus the delivery felt TOO Nick Jr. I never got that from 1 or 2.

My already low opinion of KH3 has only gotten worse over time. There really isn't a single thing about that game that doesn't have any negative impact on the game as a whole. Worlds are absolutely pointless. Way too many main characters. Sora is completely irrelevant and has the weakest connection to the plot of every other character. Gameplay is just not engaging. The ultimate big bad we've been building up was just misunderstood and needed a hug. The only thing I think they did right was the final little scene where Kairi cries and Sora fades away. And then they messed that up, too. If you're going to make Sora's entire purpose to be a vessel for a more plot important character, then just let him go. Give him that send off that means something to his story. It may be bittersweet, but that's in line with his running story through the series.

KH 3 managed to do what I thought was impossible. It made me, a fan since kingdom hearts 1 (from my elementary days) finally fu*king moved on from this franchise. Not because it gave me closure, it made me realize I will never experience the same high I experienced from KH 1&2. I mean, I was a huge fan I literally wore a keyblade necklace for like 10 years. Seriously, this game was such a huge dissapointment to me. Considering 90% of the plot doesn't matter, I think it justifies how I felt. Not to mention, the story that was told wasn't competently executed or written. I get the whole theme of the plot beats, but they did it in the most unnatural way like an expositary dialogue. Speaking of expositary dialogue, it's like the whole fu*king dialogue. The gameplay wasn't bad, but it wasn't as good and satisfying as the first two. It felt worse on the second run. I mean sure, it was a spectacle but it doesn't have a lot of depth to it, making it more boring the more you see it. Overall I felt like this game broke my heart and then completely blue balled me with the ending. It doesn't feel as genuine as the original and the sequel, it felt more like corporate decisions trying to rope you in on the next project without giving us a deserved closure. By now I don't think Nomura is a good director or writer, and I'm tired of pretending how "intricate" or "deep" or "planned out" this whole story is. At least now I can move on to better things.

Disney. I always say this when looking at what truly caused KH3 to fail. Disney was too critical of how their IPs get used and insisted that Frozen be involved even when it wasn’t even finished at the time. They made BH6 have its “story continuation” in kh3. I really wish SE would put their foot down on slimming down the Disney worlds and make more original worlds, maybe have us spend more time in certain worlds (sense Marvel and Star Wars let us travel through time for a game in those worlds instead of world hop) and can really focus on the KH original worlds.

As somebody who has multiple completed files of Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts 2 on my PlayStation 2 I barely have a completed Kingdom Hearts 3 file on my PS4. I found the story lacking and rushed in the end, the was dialogue terrible especially Donald he so slow when he talks and I can barely understand him, the combat got repetitive really fast in a game that was easy until they release critical mode, no Final Fantasy characters and people tell me it doesn't matter even though Kingdom Hearts is a final fantasy meets Disney game and these are a few of my problems with the game. I am interested in Kingdom Hearts 4 but not to the same degree I was for three and I'll wait till after the game comes out to see if it's more like 1 and 2 or if it's more like 3 and if it's like 3 it will be a hard pass for me.

Seeing these cut scenes really gets my eyes watery. It's too bad that those feelings were more because of the past and not this game.

For the life of me i will never understand why the other characters didn't join sora for the adventures. No scene with sora and riku racing over the cave boat. No scene with kairi stepping up to the plate while sora fights his own battle. No scene where Marluxia quips about castle oblivion to create doubt between axel and sora.

Sora met Vs.13 Noctis. I personally liked Kingdom 3. I have the same criticisms as everyone else has as you. A lot of love went into the wrong places. There should have been more emphasis on the main story and the characters. Unfortunately, regardless of the criticisms we have for how Square handled the property, I'm positive the retelling of the Disney movies were all done by pressure from Disney. Disney probably forced them to do all of that, also probably forced them to release the game in an unfinished form. Everything in the DLC should have been in the original game. And there were no Square Enix characters in the original game. Regardless, I still enjoyed the game. For Kingdom Hearts 4, I want Final Fantasy characters darn it. Is KH4 gonna be a darker story? Then give me Clive from FF16! Or dare I say it, 2B! Can you imagine 2B in Kingdom Hearts lol. I mean, Riku did have the blinder in KH2 and Nier ran with that look. Regardless, this was a very well researched, thoughtful and excellent video ^_^. I'm looking forward to whatever else you're making.

It was the most disney of the kindom hearts. It felt more like im moving a movie with bunch of themepark rides throughout the entire game. I loved 2, but i couldnt even get past the middle of this game. It felt like i was just forcing myself after a while. Combat is what drew me into 1 and 2. This was just terrible and boring.

I, too, am mostly disappointed of KH3 after all the waiting. Yeah, the overall grafics looked good and gameplay felt way more fluent than the previous games. But that's it mostly. While some Disney worlds felt genuine, others went by without us influencing at all - so I agree on that part of your essay. And I REALLY agree about the original cutscenes of the actual KH story. We got lots of Disney franchise, but the actual KH story (and with that the original characters we care most about) get so less time. We waited years and years for a satisfying conclusion but got.. what.. 2 hours original story in a 50-ish hour gameplay? Yeah.. That feels disappointing as hell. If they at least would've put the DLC content in the main game, it would feel a bit better. But I don't spend 30€ on a DLC which let's me play the last world all again but in different POV. That's just robbery. Considering that we can wait at least another 6 years for KH4 to drop, I can only hope that the original content takes a bigger part in KH4 than any other franchise world.

Kingdom hearts 3 was gay as f*ck, like kinfdom hearts is kinda gay in general, with the disney stuff, but in kingdom hearts 1 and 2 i didbt feel that way, like in kingdom hearts 1 i liked seeing all the disney villains plotting something together, but in 3? Everything just felt forced and gay, people who made kingdom hearrs 1 and 2 loved their game in kh3 it feels, like they were forced to do what disney and other higher ups told them what to do... like its really look great, but kh3 felt for me just like a spin off

I've never been a fan of "don't use it if the game is too easy." There is a vast difference between being stranded in an unknown world and having to figure it out with the tools you have, and being given a win button to bypass the whole thing that you "don't have to use." To put it in perspective it's like starving on an abandoned island because there is no food, and starving on an abandoned island because you weren't "craving" the kinds of food you have in your ice chest.

The game is floaty, it has no good feeling ground combos, or air combos that hit the ground in a satisfactory way. The story is so disjointed, there is no middle at all. Its just Same thing over and over again, dont learn lessons from past stories but you dont need too cause nothing you learn is useful. Sora doesn't move the plot it just happens to him and no one knows what he is thinking no one communicates other than the villians... Then you reach what would have been the middle but then the game ends If you want an ending you have to buy the DLC if you even know it exists and its not an ending at all. Its just "buy the next game in 10-20 years" if you want to know what happens. 100% Trash ruined my most favorite child hood story before this game even released, too many side games to know basics of the story. YES ITS BAD AND THE ONLY THING THAT CAN FIX IT IS A REMAKE THAT WONT HAPPEN.

I expected a lot but I didn’t feel like those expectations were too high to be met. I wanted a proper storyline to save Aqua and a proper storyline to find Ven. I still don’t understand *how* we saved either of them. Yes there’s a weird implicated and half baked explanation, I don’t buy it. The scene at the graveyard where everyone just stands around and watches Ven get decked is still annoying. They get obliterated instantly by a swarm of heartless which is just pathetic. Axel and Kairi do nothing at all despite apparently being trained. There’s nothing of substance in this game.

I think that plot wise, it really wasn't good. Especially the end was lackluster. In terms of gameplay though, it felt awesome. An option to disable attractions would've been nice though. My partner's playing it for the first time now, and they play it very differently than I generally do. It's interesting to see people pick out the combat options they like. The amount of options feels overwhelming at first, but you don't have to use every single thing the game gives you. Being able to mix and match that kind of stuff however you want is kind of nice looking back.

huh. Watching this recap made me realize something. I thought i watched the entire kh3 storyline when it came out but turns out i didn't see much of it lol~

For me yes, so much plot shoved into the last part of the game and none of the Disney Worlds meant anything, I was so excited for KH2 and even more so after FFXV, but KH3 was just an equal letdown and it killed my love for the Series and I have no excitement for KH4.

Before the video watch, I've been a diehard KH fan since before game one dropped. 3 finally drops, my excitement was immeasurable, I get into combat and all that unnecessary, over the top, way too flashy, circus crap ruined the combat for me. I just gave up on the game. Don't even remember how far I got in. I know I need to get back to it for story reasons, just gotta build the motivation 😒

The story being crammed into 30 minutes was awful, the Disney worlds felt pointless, and I can’t forgive how bad the combat was at release. Sora felt absolutely sluggish; trying to interrupt your combo to block/dodge took extremely long so you would usually just get hit anyways. The Re:Mind update made the combat a LOT better, but it definitely didn’t fix any of the plot issues.

I mean, yes it was. It was fun af to play but the story is some of the dumbest stuff I have ever played through.

I just gotta say, what happened to Terra was heartbreaking, it made me physically ill when I saw it happen. There's nothing more terrifying to me than someone stealing your own body and wearing you like a new skin, all the while you're just stuck in back watching--and worse watching as your own inner issues get manifested into a darkness that's helping to destroy the world. Its all kinds of fucked up, and I cried. I'll be 100% honest there, it got me to shed tears.

People who don't read the comics should not be taken seriously. Im talking to you creator and i hope you read this. Penguin was always a major threat. Yes his modernisation revamp was delayed when compared to villains like joker and two face. But he is not this ridiculous tim burton crap or the outdated silver age goofball anymore. Just read the comics already. Otherwise your opinion doesn't hold any weight.
