Hi Michael! I’m an old MSFS student (since it’s conception), but this past month I ponied up for the Pimax Crystal Light, DCS World and a Logitech X-56 HOTAS. I wanted to get away from the General Aviation birds and into the WWII birds! I turned 73 last week and without KZbinrs (like yourself), I’d be totally lost trying to assign knobs, switches, and buttons. (URG #,.*.FU#*), LOL! I wanted to assign the “F number buttons to my X-56’s Ms switch. You were God-sent! I followed your exact “recipe” (for programming the Ms Switch for the P51-D Mustang), and it worked! F1=Cockpit View, F2=Aircraft View, F3= Fly-By View, etc. I previously always had left M2 and Ms alone, just leaving the switch on M1, (because I didn’t have a clue on how to program any of them), but in the DCS “Control” Menu, I had assigned Gear Up=SW1/ Gear Down=SW2, Flaps Up=SW3 and Flaps Down=SW4. I was excited the first time I flipped the M1 switch to the Ms switch (while wearing the Crystal Light Headset and not needing to remove it!) However, switching back to my M1 Switch, and clicking my SW1-Gear Up/ SW2-Gear Down and SW3-Flaps Up/ SW4-Flaps Down…. all were GONE! I only had the “F number” buttons!Hmmm! I went back into the X-56 Control menu (where I had used your recipe for the “F number” button on the Ms Switch). In the M1 Switch column, I assigned G (Landing Gear) to SW1 and SW2 and Flaps Up to SW3 and Flaps Down to SW4. Everything is working correctly again. So thank you for posting this video… I’m still kinda lost but heading in the right direction!

You can also harvest parts below 15% for scrap to upgrade parts on cars you plan on keeping/racing, not worth it to upgrade the star rating of parts if selling the car though. It's mainly just to improve performance for racing and not worth the money/effort for the slight difference in profits. Just wanted to add that because it's an option other than just selling them outright or putting ruined parts on a car. I think they pay double whatever the parts/body of the car are worth so higher percentage means higher returns. I buy everything if I need the extra scrap but otherwise I only buy parts that can be repaired, there's a full list on the wiki and I hardly even have to use it. After the first few times you learn what to look for except maybe for the occasional rare parts that aren't in many junkyards. Great video though with lots of info for new players! Edit: I posted that around the 4 minute mark when you said there were only 2 things to do with the parts, wasn't expecting it to be a separate section. But you'll make way more profit even just by buying new parts than putting ruined parts, the cheapest car I've sold after restoring to 100% was $160k.

Thank you for this, one thing I encountered is that I had to disconnect my X56 and reconnect them for DCS to see the switch properly, I guess its finicky like that but nevertheless it worked after perfectly

Finally found the software (it's at the bottom of the list) and followed these instructions to the letter. Nothing. Didn't work.

Sounds like a great solution, as my friend has the X-56, and I'm trying to help him get it set up. The problem is, you never explained where you open or download that software from. You just opened it on your PC as if it's already magically there. Logitech is of no help on their website. Can you provide details for that?

Thirty eight degrees fifty seven minutes six point five seconds north seventy seven degrees eight minutes forty four seconds west. ( U,O ) Keyed word underground. Keyword abscissa ( abscissa referring to the X's as one check for layer 2 ) solving also says X layer two. U's used underground unknown. K3 before X" mist " X's to ?'s. " Can you see anything Q?"( Q illusion ) keyed word desperately ( I,E ) K4 is not a transportation only. The k to k and e counts on the hints given. Between the 2 they rule out a lot. If set theory clock then set theory is the clue. If alexander plats then its the rose of the winds and east northeast spot for a country check. The wind rose also seems to fit to the east northeast part. Also known as the peace clock. Things where missed due to how they solved it first. The cipher keywords from the first part. Where ment as instructions. K0 might link to K3 ( I,E ) I hope this helps some.

If not working like said in the video for me. BUT for all of you i have a solution that work for me. It's only working for me after i saved the profile into a new one and select it in the little menu on the bottom left of your windows menu that show your hidden software active on your PC. Hope it will work for you !

Can’t believe he only got up to 210 km an hour I use this video to get my car all the way up to 350 with a presumable 360 if the speed track wasn’t so short

Under settings I see " Travel Fees " should it be on or off ?

Would I be able to use it as a master mode switch?

The trouble with this is it's far easier for me to use the pinkie lever as a modifier key.

I have a feeling that the curvature (the geometry) of the see-through piece might have something to do with the solution to the 4th cipher. This was done by an artist, and not necessarily a professional cryptographer/code breaker, so the special spatial alignments and the transpositions of the see-through letters under certain times of the day, light conditions, solar/celestial angles and configurations might have particularly appealed to him. It’s definitely worth a shot.

PLZ READ THIS BECAUSE YOU DONT NEED AT ALL TO USE THE hotas SOFTWARE , just work inside DCS here it go: You just have to click MODIFIERS then click ADD then DEVICE NAME at this point from the list that drops choose The hotas throttle(because this button is in the Throttle) and finally rotate the 3way switch button to position2 or 3 DONE(you will see it popping up on the empty boxes the modifiers 35 or 36 then just press OK and get out of the Modifier screen )Now when binding buttons normally in your module you just have to choose the modifier Button 35 or 36 and then press the button you choose to assign for the joystick or throttle(at this point when settings the buttons you dont touch the 3 way switch in the throttle)Done you can have now 36 x 3 assigning options meaning you can have 102 buttons, it even works with axis if you want 2 kind of different curves, you will see when doing the axis assignments you have the 35(M2) or 36(S1)option there as well, exemple turn the Switch to M2 or S1 for a bigger curve in the Joystick for refueling etc.. the point is you dont need at all the hotas software to make this 3 way mode switch , doing in DCS directly is 100% easier.... this looks confusing because English isnt my language, this is easier thaN drinking water, just follow the steps in the beginning of this comment, cheers

Aha! You used a macro for ON and a macro for OFF/Release to get around the switches requiring a full cycle! You're awesome! I couldn't figure out how to get around that! IT DROVE ME NUTS! You rock! P.S .Yes DCS won't by default recognize M1/M2/S1 as a button - not until you right-click the X56 Tray Icon and choose "Clear". The icon will change from Green to White. I only recommend this method if you just want a simple 3-position switch and not a powerful shift/mode capable of changing all your bound HOTAS inputs. You could bind to a 3-pos switch in cockpit or use it to flick between your favorite 3 HUD modes for FC3 aircraft for example. Very useful, but small potatoes.

great video, but in case you dont already know you can turn off the travel costs in the settings, then any junk yard visits are free, same for anywhere else you need to travel to.
