Great video. I am restoring the same exact model and have a question. How did you remove the large gear from the axle? At 19:41 you don't show it. Did you just put the chuckle in a vise and somehow unscrewed the lock nut on top of the gear?
@mas.herramientas
@mas.herramientas 3 ай бұрын
Ciao Francesco. Yes, exactly...you can put the chuck in a vise using wood blocks on each side to prevent damaging the chuck. Then you are ready to loosen the nut and take it apart. Sorry for my late reply! I hope this helps. How is your Fein drill? Best regards from Argentina!

@mas.herramientas 11 ай бұрын
Hola!

Hola Alberto... lamento no poder ayudarlo. Saludos!

I have the c92U and its the best saw, very safe and powerful design, at 2000W it could be incorporated into a table table, simply blows the competition away for reliability too. Japanese engineering blows USA and German tools out of the water. Like my diesel 2litre Toyota D4D, now 18 years old, they just need servicing and they will outlast anything else.

This Skilsaw is very nice. Last year I bought a 7 1/4" Black & Decker Super SawCat from 1982 that is still in the box. Mine was made in Brockville, Ontario. I wonder what type of grease they used for the bearings in your Skilsaw. I hope it has not started to dry up. 🤔

Yours is another example of a great saw!. The grease of this one must be changed asap, but I was anxious enough to record this simple and short video first! haha. For sure the factory grease would have been close to an NLGI Grade #2. But, in the other side, as I won't use this saw (for now), I've not decided at all if I would dismantle it to grease all the bearings and gear case. Thanks for your comment and staying tuned!
