Did the front hubs fit inside the center caps? Thinking about a set for my 2003 sportsman
@severeripper98466 жыл бұрын
This happened to me about 6 months ago with my 2010 Ranger. Mine has the 2.3L 4 cylinder. Was redlined shifting from 1st into 2nd and BOOM. At first thought I broke a U-joint. Got underneath truck and seen it was twisted in half. Exact same spot as yours.

I just can't thank you enough for such detailed videos. I wasn't getting a slapping and was engine was bogging when revved.... Probably because my badly worn but intact belt had jumped off the rear pulley and was jammed behind it not turning at all.

@Tman05175 жыл бұрын
Hell no, Polaris cvt is amazing on the trails, I'm always in the right gear. Unlike the Honda auto where it never gave me the power I needed to go up hills faster until it finally shifted.

I have a sportsman 400 would the belt be the problem if the quad wont go any faster than 20 mph in high and in low or would it be something else
@bagels4517 жыл бұрын
I've been having the same problem. Won't go over 20 or so in high gear. I changed my belt but still have the same issue. Mine has over 5000 miles on it. The book says to check the valves for our issue.
@MrSours696 жыл бұрын
@@bagels451 hi bagels 451 it could be I. Limp mode or the pilot jet in the carburetor.. I had the same problem and I looked everywhere for the problem for about a week then just thought it was the carburetor and it was because it was not getting the air in the intake like it should have...
@codyeverette61915 жыл бұрын
I had this same problem on my 2012 sportsman 500. Turns out that my “clutch buttons” in my secondary clutch were busted which wouldn’t allow the helix to rise like it should. I opened up the secondary clutch and there were fragments of the clutch buttons scattered. $10 replacement part from EPI I believe. Put the new ones in, they just have a simple screw in the middle that holds them in place, then put the secondary clutch back together which was the only aggravating part as it is spring loaded. I was then able to get full power again! Hope this helps

What kind of gear fluid do you recommend anything aftermarket or should it be Polaris brand
@lawnizimmerman94448 жыл бұрын
Ive changed the oil since ive had it. Never changed any other fluids though. I thought about popping the cover off and looking to see if they were any groups on the clutch plates but I wouldn't know any reason why there would be this thing has had had an easy life since I've had it
@lawnizimmerman94448 жыл бұрын
It is the exact twin of your machine in your video
@lawnizimmerman94448 жыл бұрын
No I never changed it I have owned it for almost 2 years so I do not know the history of the drive belt on it it just started doing it last week you had never done it before and has not given me any problems half the time when you idle down it'll come to a stop perfectly the next time you can idol down and it wants to keep chugging forward and you have to pull hard on the gearshift to pop it out of gear
@deerhorns33148 жыл бұрын
I dont think the belt is the problem but its possible. Kinda hard to point u in the right direction with out seeing it in person. However it could be a lubrication problem. If your not positive on how it was maintenance i would suggest changing out all fluids. Do oil change, radiator flush, new gear fluid. probably coast around 100 if u do it all you self. I hope this helps a little.
@lawnizimmerman94448 жыл бұрын
my 01 500 sportsman is sometimes staying in gear, when I come to a stop it lugs and wants to keep crawling forward. wondering if it could be a belt problem, it doesn't do it all the time though
@deerhorns33148 жыл бұрын
Lawni Zimmerman Did u just put a new belt on it? sometimes when u put on a new belt the tension might be a little tight and the belt needs to be broken in, witch will happen over a short period of time riding it.
@RZRMINERBDR6 жыл бұрын
Yes mime did the same thing just before the belt flew apart. The old belt is too worn out to ride on top of the clutch pullies properly.
