I looked for this song for 15 years. Only being able to hum the melody.

This and 12.23.95 are my favourite JEW songs. Had they done a whole album of this 'fuzzy emogaze', what could've been? Guess we'll never know.

I blame it on my entrance It may have seemed too much like confidence Let me start it over Help me get to what I can from when I did [Chorus] All that I know is how I can hold on All that you see is how I let go (Take me back, please) [Verse 2] Had to leave my reasons It may have seemed too much, the consequence And in your busy, dizzy life You will become everything you said you would [Chorus] All that I know is how I can hold on All that you see is how I let go So how about once around?

I remember ripping this on Napster back in 98/99 and thinking the download messed up when it got to the static part... Then a year or two later bought the actual CD and was like, "oohhhhhhhh!"

Ive been a JEW fan for 20 years now. Ive seen them play multiple times, have all the albums, know all the songs, B,-sides and deep cuts... except this! I've never heard this song before! HOW!?

Can't believe that this, softer and sweetness were cut from clarity. I personally think the album would have been much more successful with these being on the tracklist.
@theoladany5052 жыл бұрын
For what i know, it was the label that didn't want sweetness on the record, not the band - might be wrong tho But yeah, no ideia why softer and rq didn't get in, they're absolutely fantastic Wish they were available in the streaming services

How does this song fill me with so much nostalgia when I heard it for the first time this year

JEW just posted an archive video of one of their shows in ‘98 and I had to listen to this song. This needs to be on Spotify. Also, seeing this live was one of my favorite JEW moments.

I used to be able to play this on guitar, but I have no idea how Jim managed to sing at the same time; the pacing is very weird when you try to do it, and it's not like it was a studio only song where the guitar was played then a vocal track was added; he can play this live.

Jim Adkins is incredible at playing difficult guitar parts and singing at the same time.

One of Nate's (from Fun.) favorite lyrics!
@bakkermaarten0072 жыл бұрын
Rightfully so, the lyrics are what makes books enthralling. He envokes his feelings about a situation, yet doesn't say anything about the actual context or scene. His recollections are so suggestive that we can paint a perfect picture in our heads. The lyrics are powerful, precisely because they count on the listeners to fill in the gaps.

For whatever reason, when I hear this song, I see myself driving the Delorean from Back to the Future down my lamp-lit street at midnight, going back to 2004, and kissing an old crush of mine. I'd jump back in my car, head back to 2011, and see what kind of effect THAT butterfly has on the world.
