I always thought it would've been cooler if when Chel leaves and goes out the door it's peaceful for a second then a large Combine portal opens in the far distance. Maybe you could see the outline of a certain city. Chel then hears the door open behind her one more time and it's the portal gun with a note attached "remember, you're someone else's problem now" (a nod to a lyric in the end credits song). She picks it up, takes a step, cut to black, and then we hear G man say "well who is this? Unexpected"

Fun fact: Chell wouldn't actually be walking into a Combine-controlled world in this ending. Portal 1 takes place around 2010, a few years after Combine invasion. And according to the Portal 2 Developers, Portal 2 takes place around 50,000 years later. Since Half-Life 2 takes place around 2023, it should be safe to assume the Combine are long gone.

The fact core did not get sucked through the portal.

Glados's song at the end actually hints she did infact not really delete Caroline, but is rather desiring to do so but can't seem to bring herself to do so the whole song. Talking about wishing a friend a goodbye that isn't you, then talking about deleting Caroline, but then at some point backing out of the decision before she does. I wouldn't be surprised if the reason she doesn't actually delete Caroline is because she knows that if or when she does, she wont be GLADOS anymore, nor will she even be a Machine, she'd just be a Hust, doing tests, managing the facility, and basically nothing else that made the job fun.

The fact during the credits her saying "And when I delete you I may stop feeling so bad", but the second half is redacted. Caroline clearly still exists in her, whether she likes it or not.

I only just realised the Space Core immediately gets hyped as soon as Wheatley mentions “We’re in Space”. It’s very possible it intentionally detaches itself from GLaDOS’s body in that moment just so it can go to Space, unintentionally hitting Wheatley and Chell on the way out.

The best part about playing the game totally blind is that you don’t know anything. When I played, I had no clue who Wheatley is, so hearing this british guy knocking on my door was a surprise- I hadn’t ever seen a personality core before, so that was cool to see. When GladOS crushed him, I genuinely thought he died, and was *elated* when I found him again, where he dropped eggs in the door- then I was angry, then just s a d about his betrayal, and then I fought him and it felt just amazing, and I appreciated him more than I already did XD$ Got real sad when he was blasted into space-
