A lesson I never perceived before in this story was a very clear depiction of the Lord using our iniquities to teach and correct us-even after we’ve prayed, repented and fervently asked for mercy.

Whoa! So it’s like God is agreeing to dwell with man under equal terms. Both houses being built so close and this agreement facilitating the relationships almost as both parties meeting together by the same portion. Punchline, man fails and God later revealing the only way man and God can dwell together is by God residing within man, actively shaping a man’s heart for GOOD by the Spirit.

If you don't wake up greatful for God extending your life another day, then you need to humble yourself. Literally everything is given to you. Nothing good comes from you without God working though you. You need to accept your will has no effect over Gods plan for reality. He keeps us around because He loves us and not because He needs us.

I wish you had spent more time, in that story, about God’s role in this. I don’t understand why David “gets in trouble” if it is God who uses him. 2 Sam 24:1…God caused/incited David to act. Why later is David the one in trouble? I’ve never understood this and I wish you had explained it.

God is constantly leading us in life. Everyday. It is our own nature and will that decides what path we take each opportunity. God led david down this path and it could have turned prosperously but David’s will got in the way and he sinned against god because of it

God is never the tempter but He can lead us into an opportunity… one where we might choose ourselves, or the Lord. In this case David could say that he was lead into a temptation, just as Yeshua was lead by the Spirit to be tempted. David had a choice- how will he respond to this temptation? With good, or evil? We know the outcome. Edit: these situations further emphasize God’s desire for authentic relationship with man, and of God’s design for man to rule over himself and the creation under his own stewardship.

That part where Ark man tells David he can just have it is crazy. I never caught the links to Adam and Eve there. Ark tells him to just take the land, to see and take whatever is good in his own eyes, and he even elaborates describing how he has everything David needs and can have it for free. Ark was the snake in this passage, he was tempting David to continue to follow his own desires over Gods commands. Same language and test Adam and Eve were faced with in the garden. If David had accepted Arks offer then David would have failed, sacrificing nothing to God, and protecting his own life yet again (which would have been a Cain move as well). This was another garden test for David and he finally passed, its just so overshadowed by all his failure. But obviously further points to Jesus, the new Adam, Abraham, Moses and David, the one who can suffer and face the test, who sacrifices his desire for self, and chooses to maintain his integrity and confidence in who God is, so he can intercede for the many. Only thing im not getting is why was the mans name Ark, i dont see how that fits into the garden test very well. Ill keep meditating on it. The man is symbolizing the place where Gods spirit hovers, however he is also the symbol of the tempter or testing spirit. Is the Ark ever compared to a tester? I feel like if the mans name was snake/scorpion that would have been more in line with the rest of the links, thats probably a bit too on the nose lol

I picture the garden was or is in the middle of the the Artic and that there is a magnetic mountain called Blackrock and why no matter where we are on the earth all compasses always point North and the 4 rivers on the old maps are there and why no one is allowed there. Not even to fly over it and it's not because it's too cold. Because Admiral Bryd blew that premise out of the water. And remember the scripture, Great is the Lird and greatly to be prwised in the City of our God in the mountain of his Holiness, beautiful situations thr joy of the whole earth, is Mt Zion on the sides of the north, the City of the Great king. Did you know the freemasons turn their backs to the North claiming it is the place of outer darkness and since we know lucifer inverts and twists all truth then them is something Good about the North. My opinion.

You are missing the truth. #1 the reason Jesus didn't take care of evil in the body is because HE WAS the ATONEMENT. He who knew no sin became sin for us. Death isn't the way in as- aka physical death- sone will not 'sleep' but be transformed'. Death of this will- pick up your cross .. pick up that which will cost you your life. Very general & decent questions but not the correct answers Tim.

Matthew 15:26-28 NIV He replied, “It is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to the dogs.” “Yes it is, Lord,” she said. “Even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master’s table.” Then Jesus said to her, “Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted.” And her daughter was healed at that moment.

Hi my name is Paul I'm a person who is always struggled with understanding the scriptures. Until I read the two series of books of the old testament that Jesus for everyone serious. The old testament by John Goldengay. And the New testament by NT Wright which really got me into reading the scriptures. But I came across some writing within the scriptures about angels being chained. I thought that the fallen angels had free reign over the earth when they fell from heaven. Who are these angels that are changed. If you could tell me that it'd be pretty awesome thank you

There are different types of fallen angels. The ones that you are referring is mentioned by Peter in 2 Pet 2:4 and Jude 1:6. It most likely seems to be those angels described as ‘sons of God’ in Gen 6:1-4, who performed wickedness against the daughters of man during the days of Noah. These are most probably bound in chains in a place which Peter mentions in Greek as Tartarus, a section in Hades. The other group of fallen angels are those who belong to the devil and are part of his rebellion. These are called rulers, authorities, powers of darkness, spiritual forces of evil, in Eph 6:12. These are not chained, but influence the wickedness, evil and righteousness on the earth and on man. The devil is called the god of this world in 2 Cor 4:4; Lord Jesus called him the prince/ruler of this world 3 times; the devil himself said that all authority and kingdoms of this world has been given to him in Luke 4. Lord Jesus defeated the devil on the cross, putting the rulers and authorities of heavenly places to open shame (Col 2). But still we don’t see everything in subjection to Lord Jesus as mentioned in Heb 2:8. But the day is coming, when Lord Jesus will return and establish His actual kingdom on this earth for 1000 years, and the devil and his party will be cast away.

@glennsolomon7104 thank you very much I really do appreciate that I guess it's something that you're not going to really know for sure until you actually meet the Lord Jesus Christ and everything will be revealed to us. I'm so grateful to have their presence in my life

51 All things are produced by the Tao, and nourished by its outflowing operation. They receive their forms according to the nature of each, and are completed according to the circumstances of their condition. Therefore all things without exception honour the Tao, and exalt its outflowing operation. This honouring of the Tao and exalting of its operation is not the result of any ordination, but always a spontaneous tribute. Thus it is that the Tao produces (all things), nourishes them, brings them to their full growth, nurses them, completes them, matures them, maintains them, and overspreads them. It produces them and makes no claim to the possession of them; it carries them through their processes and does not vaunt its ability in doing so; it brings them to maturity and exercises no control over them;--this is called its mysterious operation.

49 The sage has no invariable mind of his own; he makes the mind of the people his mind. To those who are good (to me), I am good; and to those who are not good (to me), I am also good;--and thus (all) get to be good. To those who are sincere (with me), I am sincere; and to those who are not sincere (with me), I am also sincere;--and thus (all) get to be sincere. The sage has in the world an appearance of indecision, and keeps his mind in a state of indifference to all. The people all keep their eyes and ears directed to him, and he deals with them all as his children.

32 The Tao, considered as unchanging, has no name. Though in its primordial simplicity it may be small, the whole world dares not deal with (one embodying) it as a minister. If a feudal prince or the king could guard and hold it, all would spontaneously submit themselves to him. Heaven and Earth (under its guidance) unite together and send down the sweet dew, which, without the directions of men, reaches equally everywhere as of its own accord. As soon as it proceeds to action, it has a name. When it once has that name, (men) can know to rest in it. When they know to rest in it, they can be free from all risk of failure and error. The relation of the Tao to all the world is like that of the great rivers and seas to the streams from the valleys.

23 Abstaining from speech marks him who is obeying the spontaneity of his nature. A violent wind does not last for a whole morning; a sudden rain does not last for the whole day. To whom is it that these (two) things are owing? To Heaven and Earth. If Heaven and Earth cannot make such (spasmodic) actings last long, how much less can man! Therefore when one is making the Tao his business, those who are also pursuing it, agree with him in it, and those who are making the manifestation of its course their object agree with him in that; while even those who are failing in both these things agree with him where they fail. Hence, those with whom he agrees as to the Tao have the happiness of attaining to it; those with whom he agrees as to its manifestation have the happiness of attaining to it; and those with whom he agrees in their failure have also the happiness of attaining (to the Tao). (But) when there is not faith sufficient (on his part), a want of faith (in him) ensues (on the part of the others).

5 Heaven and earth do not act from (the impulse of) any wish to be benevolent; they deal with all things as the dogs of grass are dealt with. The sages do not act from (any wish to be) benevolent; they deal with the people as the dogs of grass are dealt with. May not the space between heaven and earth be compared to a bellows? 'Tis emptied, yet it loses not its power; 'Tis moved again, and sends forth air the more. Much speech to swift exhaustion lead we see; Your inner being guard, and keep it free.

14 We look at it, and we do not see it, and we name it 'the Equable.' We listen to it, and we do not hear it, and we name it 'the Inaudible.' We try to grasp it, and do not get hold of it, and we name it 'the Subtle.' With these three qualities, it cannot be made the subject of description; and hence we blend them together and obtain The One. Its upper part is not bright, and its lower part is not obscure. Ceaseless in its action, it yet cannot be named, and then it again returns and becomes nothing. This is called the Form of the Formless, and the Semblance of the Invisible; this is called the Fleeting and Indeterminable. We meet it and do not see its Front; we follow it, and do not see its Back. When we can lay hold of the Tao of old to direct the things of the present day, and are able to know it as it was of old in the beginning, this is called (unwinding) the clue of Tao.

Team Tim and John, here's a question. I've heard it said these scriptures that involve sacrifice and surrender, starting with the Cain & Abel conflict...all the way to the Levitic lineage, are all a way of justifying what was known as "the temple cult" during the second temple period, in conflict with some other mode of worship or belief. Can you guys go into that discussion at some point?

It's erroneous that you could say culturally Jesus got this mindset. The Jews didn't act that way. They were given hundreds of laws to encourage them to do so but they didn't obey. Jesus understood that this system was not about building up dynasties but a transient place. We still struggle to live there & still can't. You find very few Pauls , Timothys & Peters. Your generous contributor- does he sell all His possessions & give to the poor. No- he makes enough to share what he has to those he 'chooses' to share with. Jesus did not have a cultural mindset- He came to do the will of the Father- not His own. He was teaching - if it was a cultural norm- they wouldn't need taught.
