How was your experience being a commentator for Thunder League?

I still play it occasionally, and even spade stuff from time to time, but I no longer obsessively play it. Unless you're going nuts in some event there is no time limit on anything. Whatever you're after will always be there if/when you decide to return. While War Thunder tries its damndest to make you think grinding is the only thing to do, you can find new things to do in it instead. Like just...playing for fun on occasion?

They have made it real slow to unlock comparing when game first came out. I had most of it unlocked. I played since the begining 1.17 I think. (I didn't play it for many years now).

I started playing in 2014 and was playing on and off for years. Sometimes like a maniac and just nolifeing it. Finally let it go 3 to 4 years ago where I just saw it reached a point where the bullshit to fun ration became very bad for me. But man when I watched you in 2016-2018 and played back then... it was just perfect. But I'm glad you let go of it and It has also lead me to let go of it. I install the game like every 8 months and play for a few days and then I'm done again and uninstall. But life is better when you overcome an addiction as bad as fucking War Thunder.

It's really comforting to know and see how everybody has outgrown themselves, constantly striving the become a better version. I know I used to look up to both of you, when I moved onto international level of playing. And I think it has become a huge part in my personal development, since it showed me the power of inspiration, the ability to be open-minded and always trying to improve. Which of course, later on would transfer into real life (which at the time I also didn't have much going on). Anyway, what I want to say is that I'll forever remain grateful for the time spent in WT and the people I met there, bc as Tim mentioned, it led me to where I am rn. Plus to think about it, at the time it really created a "defensive shield" from the rather mentally destructive real life most of us had. Which would have a greater chance of causing permanent damage, if that was the only thing we had. So imo, I cannot really define this game as negative part our life, but rather a "necessary evil". After all, everybody should have their own causes and I'm glad you guys have your own. Love y'all and huge thanks once again!

You cant do whats best for all people even in a smaller homogenous community. Theres always going to be people who have drastically different values beliefs and positions on issues. But for some parts of the world, a benevolent dictator is the best they can hope for. We have a habit of being too idealistic in foreign policy and trying to promote liberal democracy in places that are either extremely fundamentalist or places that have been living under authoritarian regimes for so long. The population lacks the tools, education and mindset to have a foundation that can prop up a liberal democracy. Trying to do so rather quickly usually leads to weak democracies that fail and become something worse

Indeed, that is why healthy hobbies, friends, and family are so important to fill the non-work time. And doubly so why it's critical to not let excess work invade beyond its allotted 8 hours so you can discover new hobbies, meet new friends, date, etc etc.

I had the same perspective when I was 18. I’m 28 now and can confidently say that religion is not stupid. There’s a reason why rules exist. Most rule-breakers find that out the hard way. Wisdom comes from doing stupid things in your youth. “The rules” that most people disregard were written by wise men that did stupid things in their youth. Religion exists for a reason. The friends I know now that are thriving were generally religious and didn’t get sucked into addiction with alcohol, pron, and video games. The ones that aren’t or are dead or in jail… yeah they all thought religion was stupid too.

probably because you have more sway in the game (nit anymore sadly. I looked up to you) than the people that make the game. I don't understand what your missing. still missing clearly. Sounds like your just running from the actual you these last few years. sad really.

I only wish that worked. I've been patiently looking for a job all this year and the best part of 2023, but I am just getting rejects every time. And the last one was today, and it was after a very good interview, when I came to the place 3 times, and even attented half of a working day, listening to the bullshit of the manager that she would like that I did that job. It is really going to be the last one. Life is a heap of shit.

Spit_flyer carried me through quarantine, the high tier prop stuff practically dragged me to my first jet. More importantly, your videos were always more conversational than tutorial, I remember hearing random stuff about medical school and other going ons in your life at the time. Glad to see the face behind that Australian accent after these years. Hope you're doing well, and thank you.

Didn't watch Spit back in 2015 but he was talked about all everywhere. Seems the thing that everybody has in common is that nobody plays War Thunder anymore lmao. I spent 2 years getting comfortable and it was the worst time in my life, total stagnation and no growth. Been on the full send over the last year and it's never been better. Always try to get out of your comfort zone
