Many Texas schools are not giving open access to Learning Ally. They are requiring students to ask a teacher - Reading Specialist or Dyslexic Therapists have been the gate keepers to accessing Learning Ally books. This is another gate. I check out many books - and after a few minutes realize its not the book for me. If you have to find a book you think you might like, find the hard bound book (some like the hard bound in their hands), ask the therapist to add to their Learning Ally list, and then if you struggle to find something to read comfortably, then there is another judgement addition. There are a lot of gates to navigate, a lot of technical and judgement gates in just accessing Learning Ally access.
